I found this humorous. So if you've been following the Yanks Abroad board or are a Derby County fan, you know that Derby just signed an 18-year old American from Texas named Conor Doyle. Doyle was set to play at Creighton this fall and had actually enrolled last winter to get a head start, academically and, presumably, athletically. He played spring ball for the Jays. But Creighton never announced he had signed. Not in January, when many schools announced their early arrivals and certainly not after the national signing day because they NEVER ANNOUNCED THEIR RECRUITS for 2010. http://www.gocreighton.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=89401&SPID=2518&DB_OEM_ID=1000&ATCLID=204974448 So now the lead story on their website is Doyle signing at Derby, which is fine and all. So apparently his LEAVING was a big enough deal to announce but not his, or anyone else's, arrival. And, yeah, I know they switched coaches and all. But the signing period began in early February and Bob Warming bolted for Penn State in late May so they had almost four months to announce and didn't do so. And Jamie Clark was hired as his replacement over two months ago and they STILL haven't announced the new players. So there was plenty of time before Warming left and there's been plenty of time since Clark was hired.
Then again, I never announce when my relatives are visiting, but I'm ready to sing out when they are planning to leave!
