    Takeaways from this match:
    1) Tchani needs to start
    2) Marquez in for Mendes, let him bring the ball up from the back a la Barca CBs
    3) Richards needs to be traded/benched for a long time
    4) We ARE a title contender

    Well

There were a lot of good things to take out of that match. And a good bit of the negatives leading up the goals or missed penalty can be attributed to bad play in front of the defense which Marquez will help. So that's good

    5) finish off all (or at least, most) of the quality scoring chances

I had a feeling that not scoring that 3rd goal was going to come back to bite them and it did. 2 points down the drain.

Losing a lead while up a man is always rough, but when our team was slacking for the last 30 minutes of the game its truly obnoxious. I was honestly waiting for the goal, the team didn't seem to even want to extend their lead and the defense for whatever reason couldn't even handle a 2 man attack. Really annoying to watch and I'm disappointed in the final effort.

With that said, Tchani has earned the holding midfield position, let Marquez play alongside Ream so we can stop leaking goals. Henry should have scored easily but he did brilliantly to set up Angel's goals, and the attack in general looked great. I just wish they went all out for 90 instead of just assuming that they had the win...

For the record it was 101 degrees heat index when this game was played... Houston is used to this weather and is known for the last minute goal at home....Bulls were gassed... they should have defended with more bodies after the 2nd goal and go home with the win...rather they pushed for the third goal

Good point but I still think they could have put another one away earlier in the game. The problem was that they did neither defend or attack, they tried to pass it around for 30 minutes and it bit them in the ass.

yes, i was confused why Backe didnt use his earlier. Some fresh legs pressuring the midfield woulda help.

Anyway, I agreed with lots of you. Mendes is weak link tonight. i thought everyone played well.

    Player Ratings:

Bouna 5 Made an excellent save but was poorly positioned on the 2nd goal. Had a gimp walking around and intermittently let Mendes take goal kicks

Albright 4 Defended well but went backwards with his distribution way more then forward... Didn't link up well with the two right mids... and didn't make too many forays into the attacking 3rd

Mendes 3 Not a great game for Carlos! He got burned on the foul leading to the PK and lost Mullen on the 2nd goal. I was hoping he could continue his good play of late but tonight was a disaster.

Ream 6.5 Best defender for the Bulls.... Did well clearing several dangerous chances and hooked with the mids and strikers...

Miller 4 Roy still looks like he is hurting... he was a step slow

Stammy 4 Had a mixed night...hustled but lost the ball more than he connect with his teammates....

Lindpere 5 Had a good game ... hustled much but his passes were a touch heavy....

Tchani 6 Solid game from Tony for 80+ min...last 10 were another story as he was exhausted by then...

Kandji 6 Macoumba is growing and with some practice with Henry and Angel...they will tear up the league

Angel 8 MOTM Scored two goals...the last being a golazo!

Henry 7.5 Just put it them the net next time baby! Be selfish! We don't mind!!!

    Sub:

Richards 3 The most inconsistent player ever....

Angel now has 11 goals in 16 games. this is the 4th year in a row with goals in the double digits.

Last minute against goals are always horrible.. but i think that there are really good things ahead of us!

Some of you are partially naive. Watch Angel's second goal again. It wouldn't have happened had it not been for this guy's run....

No need to totally bash his performance. He did have some bright spots.

GTFOH with that bullshit dude, the ref carded Palmer not us or Henry . He burned your defenders tonight , had them looking like Orange practice Cones. had he finished his chances, your fans would have been cheering for us by the end of the night.
