It's like when you're playing a pickup game at a big college gym and the first team finishes their practice and starts watching the pickup game. Suddenly the "Joes" playing their pickup game start going 100 mph.
I think we got a little lucky there with Man City missing that sitter, but it's nice that we won. When we subbed out most of our starters for the second half, all I could think was "Here we go again."
Which Idiot posted shit about Tchani , Dane and Kandji today again ? they were our best players today. Kandji has been getting better every game since his injury and Tchani Continues to prove he's the future of this team , Dude bossed that middle all day long . Dane , Now he's just a freaking enigma i cant figure this guy out.
Tcachni did not lose a ball all day. Best game I ever saw Kanji and Dane play!!! Little brazilian guy looked fine in limted time and wow, what happened to Boyens?? He looked good also! Irving still in witness protection program.
Its the Backe effect, he knows how to build up confidence in his players. i think if we win this season we might loose him to a team in the EPL.
The only player wasn't in tone in the firsst half was Miller, after that all of them play pretty good, Tchani and Reachards the best game of both in RB uniform, Kandji have a good game for a change, Albright in the second half was a shit, well in the second Borman was excellent and the man of the match no question go to Richards, how long I been waiting to say something like that of Speedy Gonzales...
I thought Boyens played decent last yr with pretty good control of the ball. I think he is better than Petke. Great game for a lot of our players, but I wish they gave Garcia some time on the field.
I hate to be Debbie Downer, but Dane Richards always plays well in exhibition games. He also had that nice goal in the Santos game as well. Man City gave Red Bull a LOT of room making us look like Spain in regards to ball possession. I'd love to see Richards play like that every MLS game, but that ain't gonna happen. Regarding the kid who is on trial, what sense does it make to wait until the 82nd minute to see if he can play?
Great showing by RBNY and MLS today. I'm no RBNY fan, but I have to say you guys have something to get excited about. I love watching the team now. The last two matches have shown not only that Henry is still capable of playing at a high level, but his teammates can play, and he can make them better. Good luck the rest of this season. I would love to see a NY/LA MLS Cup Final. It would be outstanding for the sport and MLS. If ever there was a time to get excited, it's now. I have to say as a Timbers fan, I'm a little jealous. Edit: Just sit back and enjoy the win, but also the GREAT soccer played today by RBNY. Enjoy.
I think part of the reason is that these games are a little more open than regular season games which play to his strengths while in regular season games which are tighter, he doesn't get all those one on ones, he has make crosses in the air which he can't do most of the time, he has to see the field and sometimes use his left foot which he can't, etc. Let's hope we can trade him and get a player we need or something else like allocation money
I thin what we're seeing here is a team that's building in confidence. Henry has certainly helped, but the Bulls beat Man City today without the superstars. W/ Henry, Angel, and Rafa added to the equation, this is probably the best team in the league. Congrats to Richards and Kanji for excellent games.
Dane Richards? [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGpJ5cfL22A"]Dane Richards wonder goal[/ame] I missed his Santos wonder goal, but this time I got lucky when lightning struck twice.
I think most MLS defenders know that all you have to do to shut down Richards is force him to make runs down the sideline. If you give him any space in the center he might just crack one in like he did today and against Santos.
Did anyone else notice in the first half where we won the ball back after a spell of City possession, and Stammler looked to boot it upfield before Henry told him to slow it down? His effect goes beyond his own abilities, he can teach the rest of the team how a professional team is supposed to play.
Clearly there's some talent among the younger RB players. Just gotta keep harnessing it. BTW, Richards' assist on the first goal was probably even nicer than his goal. Fabulous move on Bridge, followed by pinpoint cross.
