Unfortunately, it does not look like Silverlight 4 does this. I know, shocking, Microsoft promised a feature that did not make it into the final product. I have found a bit of workaround: 1) When you bring up a game, hit F11 in Firefox 2) Click somewhere (but not on the Silverlight app) and hit Ctrl + This will blow the video up, but you still have the annoying bar at the top. The other option is download something like VMWare and run a OS inside of your OS. I might do that in the future.
That was cropping up yesterday. Try refreshing. If that doesn't work, contact them at chris.schlosser@sumworld.com OR mlsmatchdaylive@neulion.com
same here. Yesterday all the matches were maxed at 1200 and I would get some debug error also. Not sure why?
Nobody seems to have an explanation. But this was discussed and resolved via the other thread. Starting here: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?p=20771589#post20771589
Has anybody successfully used a proxy to watch MDL? If so, could you PM me details. I may be switching away from cable and I don't want to miss my local games.
Has anyone encountered the problem where you try to watch a live game where it always says "video failed to play"? I have ever since I got the service and I did contact support where they made me do a bunch of tests but they just give me he same standard answers which didn't work (reinstalling silverlight etc). I have NHL gamecenter which is run by the same neulion and that works fine for me. So has anyone have this issue and overcome it?
This is moronic. Wednesday night Colorado plays in Chicago. Because tihs game was moved so Chicago could play its Sister Cities Cup, there is no TV broadcast of the game in Denver. I just chatted with a Neulion rep to make sure they knew it wasn't being aired so I didn't get a blackout message when I tried to watch. According to Neulion the game will be blacked out for me because I'm in Altitude's market. A. Altitude isn't the TV partner this year, KWGN is B. KWGN ISN'T SHOWING THE GAME!!! So I'm going to be blacked out of watching a Rapids game I can't even watch on TV. The only way to watch the game in Colorado is apparently to buy the Direct Kick package. WTF?
Full credit to Rapids GM Jeff Plush. I emailed him about the same time as my last post. He called the league office, told them to remove the blackout not only for Wednesday's game but for all Rapids games in the Denver market, and has already heard back from the league office that Neulion has been notified and they've changed the settings. Obviously the test comes on Wednesday, but that's pretty quick work by the Rapids GM.
That's good response. It's great when a front office makes the effort to take care of fans' concerns. It's how you build your fanbase.
I wish there was a way to choose which teams broadcast you get to watch. I know the MLB online one lets you choose. I would much rather listen to my teams homer broadcast team then the other teams homer broadcast team
Does the condensed version of matches just cut-out replays, injuries, etc. Does it remove any of the actual match?
And honestly, whomever they hired to decide what to cut out isn't very good at his job. I've watched condensed highlights of games I've seen live and they cut out many good parts. There are times that they let the highlights run for 2-3 minutes at a time for no particular reason. Often they show a highlight and then boom it's halftime. They need someone with a bit more soccer IQ to be doing the condensing. It just feels really really lazy.
First post here. American living in Korea. I subscribed to the live video the past few years and would like to do so again this year. I don't care if it's live--I always watched the archives anyways, with the huge time difference. Wouldn't it be legally possible to open it up to international users as an archive-only package, with no live streaming? This wouldn't interfere with international broadcast rights, surely?
Why is the new MatchDay Live demo video in flash and the service is actually Silverlight? That's quite misleading.
It's completely misleading. What do you expect from these guys? The whole operation is being run by a marketing (lier) smock. Their subscription service is probably not making money, so now they resort to misleading advertisement, take your money, then make it impossible to give you a refund.
I wish they'd have an option so you can hide that ugly "interface" when you go full screen. Highly annoying to have that ugly thing hog up space on my screen that can be used for watching the game.
I'll second this - not just the condensed games, but smaller highlight packages as well. It's like someone is cutting the games based off a matchtracker report rather than watching the match. Any idiot can be taught to cut video fairly reasonably. Start with someone who is passionate and knowledgeable about the game. Since most games are only viewed and remembered by highlight reels, this is actually a pretty important job.
I am trying to watch some of the older games and I am getting a Video Failed to Play message. Great product, MLS.
For what it's worth, I downloaded a new Silverlight update, and am watching the Pachuca/Toluca Superliga game, and it's behaving like a dream.
