So...we like the turf, we want a roof, stuff is expensive, people can't handle waiting more than 30 seconds to go to the washroom. What else am I missing from this thread?

It would be great if BMO offered more vegetarian options, they have burritos, but only beef and chicken, why not bean? Veggie dogs or burgers, I know I'll get flamed for this post but hey there are a lot of vegetarians out there.

    I'm sick of chip buddys...:D

What did you move? You guys are too much. Not everything has to be so clinical.

My point is...how many times can the same stuff be said? A brief, off topic conversation isn't all that bad....it's simply for a tiny bit of entertainment and fun.

Honestly, there's nothing much going on in TFC world and there isn't much more to say about the improvements to BMO field. Does the 1000th comment regarding a roof or chip butties win some sort of prize?

If you've been reading the thread, you know what has been moved. I also said it outright. The T.O. posts (including my own) were off topic.

T.O. has nothing to do with improvements to BMO Field so those posts were off topic and have been removed!

They're in a new throad in the NSR area of the site.

I just couldn't think at the time what I said that needed to be moved.

I checked out the thread....T.O. vs. T.O. It just seems to be one of those things that springs up in conversation, but not really worth going specifically to comment on.

Some MLS forums on Big Soccer seem to allow for more creative conversation to take place. I understand we are talking about improvements to BMO Field, but if over the course of 24 pages worth of conversation a brief (for example) T.O. debate springs up, why not role with it? I believe it had legitimately run it's course anyway, but in my opinion, it's these extra things that make these forums worthwhile. Isn't this supposed to be a place for discussion?

When I talk to people in real life there is an ebb and flow. Sometimes you can get talking about something, sort of get lost on something else interesting, but then come back around to what you were talking about. That's how it seems to work. It can even be quite interesting.

On this thread guys are talking about wishing they had smoothies now.

Enough said on it. I promise. Flash Gordon is now on vacation.

We went through a change a while back, and we're trying to keep things roughly on topic per the 'state of the forum' and 'off topic' threads - generally discussions that have little to do with the topic at hand are moved to their own thread.

This allows for the new discussion to sprout without taking the original thread off-topic. Generally, posts commenting on the off-topic-ness (these last four aside) are moved to the new thread.

My wife is a veggie ... and has been happy with the veggie pies at the pie place under 104.

    Your married to a carrot?

I always take note who is a Vegetarian and who is not. In cases of emergency (my plane crash landing in the andies) I will eat the Vegetarians first as they are essentially grain fed!

(pulls Canadian dictionary off shelf ... yes, veggie is listed as slang for a vegetarian).

No, my wife is not a carrot.

There is a logic to that ... but perhaps the kids should go first. Veal.

Those quinoa pies are killer. I lived on them during the double headers back during the U20 in '07... but they cost a fortune. Tell your wife to stick with chip buttys: more carbs per dollar than anything else at BMO!

There is, of course, the chance that those chips are fried in animal fat ;)

Not a problem; my wife simply doesn't like meat ... she's not morally opposed to it. And I've certainly seen her reappear with chips before ... personally I'm too busy watching the game to line-up for such things ...

Though I have been meaning to check out that new poutine van on the north side!

As the GO service has been closed down and we cannot get to the game are we to be compensated in any way? Do we sue TFC, McGuinty, Harper, the Police or the rioters?

Very disappointed to miss this game after just watching the USA and Ghana play.

I operate on a strict "don't ask; don't tell" policy in that regard! (And I haven't been "really" vegetarian in years.)

With the opening of PPL Park in Philly, there are probably more SS stadiums in MLS that have roofs than not (I'm guessing here) now... my point is - how much would it really cost to put a roof/canopy over at least the South End that can be easily removed should MLSE/City/Province decide to expand, and therefore need to take the roof down?

Having stood in the South End for 4 years now, it would be nice to be completely soaked when it rains, or risk sun-burn when its 30+ in the summer.

Why would they pick the south end to roof over at the exclusion of other areas? I have seats in the south end and seats @ midfield on the west side.....as a customer, I would expect cover for my $90 seats before my $20 seats got covered.

Of course, I would prefer that they cover the WHOLE stadium, but I used the South End as an example purely for a selfish reason - that's where my seats are!

I've got no problems if other people think that their side should get covering first, but like I said, I said the South End because that's where I watch the games... is there anything wrong with that?

no....it just was not clear in your posting (it sorta implied there might be a reason to cover that part first).

If anything, the west side (not just because it is where the most expensive seats are) would get covered first because it is already two-tiered so the least likely to be further expanded.

That said, I don't there is a roof/cover coming anytime soon....it is an improvement that generates no revenue.

... and it would have the least possible effect on revenue coming from the south end unless they raised prices.

Since I'm in a "restricted territory" "England" I don't get MLS Live TV anymore for the first time I can remember, so I'm not as close to the league this year as previously. So, tonight I caught my first glimpse of the newly modified BMO Field and the double decker stand behind the goal and it's magnificent! Your stadium always looked great on TV because of the number and enthusiasm of the fans, but with the grass pitch and now the new stand it looks like one of the old English or Italian grounds before we all started getting the same anti septic design.

It looks great guys. Over the forth coming years you can grow your club into something that will grab attention and respect worldwide.

I heard on the fan 590 MLSE is going to expand BMO Field by adding a second deck on the stadium's east side. This would add about 8,000 seats according to the radio host. This would be AWESOME!!! I hope they do something with the outside of the building too, needs more life, maybe a sports bar and some shops.

That would be great, taking the stadium to nearly 30K, though the season ticket holders on the upper west side may not like it as they'd lose the fantastic view of the city that they have over there.

I don't think that exterior shops or a pub would be a practical idea, outside of game times and other events at the Ex there really wouldn't be much business for them.

Those season ticket holders on the west side should be focusing on the game not the view of the city. I hope they do build on the west side just for that reason alone. I hope the Stadium goes 35,000 to 40,000. That would be sweet.
