But the poster "fairwitness" said that he was horrible, so Beckham has to be wrong, right?
In all seriousness, no surprise there, certainly could have given it to that OTHER American but the kid played like a man on fire and was unreal in that Slovenia match.

Sergio Ramos has been awful in this tournament.

Anybody who doesn't start Maicon on their WC dream team, isn't trying to win the fantasy World Cup. I question, whether Beckham's fantastical heart is really in those picks.

This should be called "Beckham's WC Best IX + 2 Fullbacks I've played alongside"

I wasn't sure if he even ran until the Germany game. He was quite good vs. Germany, however.

I agree, Ramos looked pretty good to me versus Germany. I also liked that he mentioned Coentrao who I do believe was better than Cole. I just feel like anything positive that Mensah may have done [and I didn't watch him closely] should be cancelled out by that penalty kick...which was reminiscent of the abyssmal pks I took in high school. Robert Green whacked out on Rohypnol could've saved that.

It's an opinion, agree or disagree it is one person's opinion. Yes he has played on a national team and for some of the top club teams in the world, but he may look at the game differently than us. No one would pick the same 11 plus 3,. Even if you talked to every player and manager in the World cup, they would not agree. Debate it, agree or disagree but move on and don't read too much into this. I looked at the list, disagreed with a few picks and have moved on. The one thing I do agree with is that Michael BRadley was our best player. Fire away

Other than Ramos (who hasn't been poor) ahead of Maicon.

And having Ashley Cole out there. Seriously, how about Lahm at LB (OK, so he played RB this time, still better than Cole).

Heck, or Gio (for that goal alone, Wow!)

I also thought Robinho had a real good tournament.

Steve Cherundolo was our best player throughout the tournament but I agree that Mikey was solid.

Mikey was better... Especially considering that last game.

Over the course of '06-'10 WCs, Cherundolo was awesome for us. But I agree, Bradley had a better '10 tournament than Cherundolo (who was, nonetheless, our third best player this go-round).

Given what transpired today, Becks' team can count on bleeding goals. Muslera was shockingly bad.

I think the list came out before the GER URU game. It's difficult to pick a great GK from this tournament. Every GK has had a bad moment.

? Mikey wasn't all that good in the last game. Misfired on passes and as with the rest of the midfield, got overrun defensively.

Struck me that Cherundolo or maybe even Clint were our most consistent players in the tournament. But I thought MB was a beast in two of them, against Slovenia and Algeria.

For me, Cherundolo gave us a world class performance from a position that was considered pretty weak going into the WC (I mean, we nearly started Spector). I would have hoped for a not-embarressing performance and we got an excellent performance instead. He exceeded expectations.

I expected more from Bradley but I thought he delivered as well.

    Cherundolo was:

    1. Great against England
    2. Good going forward against Slovenia, but mediocre on defense
    3. OK against Algeria
    4. Not effective against Ghana

To me this puts him well below Bradley, Donovan and probably Dempsey as well.

Rational people should at least be able to agree that MB deserves his starting part for the USMNT.

    1. Cherundolo is in his 30s and was 10th in the entire tournament in distance covered after 4 games, I don't think it's any surprise that he wore down a bit after each game...

    2. I don't think rational people have ever doubted that, but the internet is mostly irrational people.

I would include Honda in the line-up. The best FK taker of the tournament.
