I hate to see Cole leave, he's been a favorite of mine since he came to Chelsea. Ballack... not so much. But this is the way these things go, time for players like Kakuta to get ready to make the jump...

Wish we could keep Joe. He will come good next year with one of our rivals and it will be tough to watch.

Wouldn't surprise me if he stars for England over the next few weeks

I have a feeling his game with England this summer is going to be above the general current expectations; for both, fans and himself, maybe even his mates.

Nope. guessing that it wont happen either. Arsene wont pay a player of that age that much money. My guess is either Spurz or Citeh (both would hurt more than Joey going to Arse for me at least).

Didn't know where to post this but Joey Cole and Ballack are featured heavily in it. Enjoy. Great Chelsea fan video credit to Nicolas Tales.

So, let me get this straight: we got rid of Joe Cole because he's too old and injured, and.... we sign an older midfielder from Liverpool? Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Banayoun as he's hurt us several times when we've played the Reds, but the logic of this decision is illogical. I'm a big fan of quality players and it makes me mad to see them dumped just because they've been injured. It's a mid-twentieth century attitude, "Oh, he's done his knee, he'll never be the same player" that just doesn't apply anymore. Thank god they don't shoot soccer players for pulling up lame, or Stamford Bridge would be a morgue.

We got rid of Jcole because he was asking for high wages.

We got Benayoun because he is versatile in the midfield and was cheap.

I sure hope not. We have enough injury-plagued players.

Joe Cole is often injured. Benayoun never is. I think this is what it comes down to. Though like many have said the club may not think of him as a Joe Cole replacement.

Don't really want to rehash again, just pointing out the cheaper rational, if you compare the two is not accurate

19-21-15 25 the amount of League matches played by Yossi the last 4 years as he has in fact been injured a fair bit, if not as severely as Joey's big injury

Benayoun was injured last year for at least 6 weeks.

That is like a weekend compared to some of the injuries we have had in Boz, Essien, etc.

also not trying to stir anything up, but i don't think total games played is very accurate either. there were many games he was available and not used i think.
