Hi, my name is Louie and I'm pissed off. If you don't know why, you weren't watching the game.

That was probably the saddest Dynamo game I've ever seen, and I've seen all but a couple of them. The Miami game was equally bad in the first half but somehow turned around. This one just kept getting worse until we scored, then there was a brief moment of excitement, "sí se puede" until we gave away the third goal y no se pudo. :(

I know I get predictable, but I do like watching Cisco play, he's pretty exciting to watch. He was open most of the second half with tons of space but they seldom passed to him. He seldom made mistakes, which can't be said about anyone else.

Last place Chivas seemed to have no trouble maintaining ball contol and taking shots. How many times did we give away the ball last night? How many shots did we have? Cisco took one from a long way off, were there any others? When guys, like Cam, would find themselves open in front of the goal, they would decide to pass. How in hell do you score from passing, especially when you can't complete a pass?

And, Downside, I do like Yardley, I like his style, he can be funny and he sounds sort of laid back, like a friend describing the game to you.

That was awful. I get that these aren't starters but Chivas is a pretty friggin' bad team. Chabala and Robinson basically escorted the Chivas attacker to the goal for the third score. The only highlights of the game were the brief ten minutes of rain and the Waibel body slam towards the end.

If we trot similar lineups in Superliga, which may be a distinct possibility, we are going to get crushed. The performance last night was totally pitiful. But I guess what really bugs me is more of the horrible effort I saw. If you've got a bunch of backups who are playing their tails off and they lose, it is a lot easier to take than a bunch of guys lollygagging around the field.

At least now we don't have to worry about two more potential Open Cup games to clog up our already busy schedule.

Saturday can't get here soon enough.

With the age and numbers on the roster the busy schedule is our nemesis. If we were smart we'd have signed a mediocrity or two (quality does not matter right now so much as the ability to rest people) just to absorb minutes in some of these tournament games we are contractually obliged to fulfill.

With the sheer amount of breakdowns I am hearing about, I would blow the defense up and start over. Keep Boswell, Hainault, and Chabala, everyone else is either retired or run out of town.

All I can say after witnessing this embarrassing loss, it that quite obviously Dom has a plan. And that plan revolves around our remaining MLS schedule.

There is always a bright side to all of this.

We are knocked out of the Open Cup - therefore I do not have to spend money to travel to the final.

    Same same Superliga

I'm saving my hard earned airmiles and cash for the MLS playoffs:D

Foolish me. I was already thinking of what I was going to spend my money on since I wasn't going to have to go to the MLS playoffs and final.

best lines of the night-"Dominick, if you don't start running, you are going to come sit next to me"

"Ryan, why the hell are you covering space? Move back....sh$%. G#$ Dammit Ryan!" (First Goal)

I think I said that to Dr. Ludicrous right after the third goal.

hell-Chewie hand wrapped the last goal so under than philosophy we should have taken his ass downtown after the match and strapped to the first greyhound out of town. So let's calm down on the cleaning house scenarios.

It's pretty obvious that a lot of guys will be hanging it up after the season. Age has caught up to us. Richie, Eddie, Craig. Maybe even Chingy.

the best part of the night was Richie getting subbed off and giving the arm band to Joe, who was like, WTF-I just got back here I shouldn't have it-he gives it to Adrian who hot potatoes it back to Joe. It was like watch men at a wedding with the garter. That whole thing sums up last night and the season so far-no one wants to step up.

Stuie is a bonafide star and literally upstaged his former teammates when he showed up-I think he realized that too and left soon after. Stewie has now left the building.

hey man, if you didn't bother to show up and get wet then you're not allowed to comment. :D

the thing is that i'm at a loss. were the Cameron and Davis injuries that earth-shaking to this team that it would drop this low? even if they are that season destroying what the hell does it have to do with the 'D' all of sudden looking North Korean-ish. i don't get it and i think this whole 'we're to old sht' is a minimal part of the issue.

is it a lack of leadership?

Chabala has his bad days but this is his first full season starting at this level and I think he's got potential. I also think Boswell and Hainault have their limits but also their positive qualities where they should be retained. You could put Cameron back there and have a solid roster block of 4, supplemented with free agents and draft picks.

I think the rest are wastes of space and/or past their sell-by date (ERob, Waibel, Cochrane, Serioux, etc.). And the worst part is they are all cap-heavy with $100K salaries. Chabala may have a bad particular night but they are having a bad year. It's all relative.

The personnel work this year is just awful. We brought in a bunch of backs who can't play who are redundant of each other in their skill sets (all but Chabala are slow tall stick figures, something that seems to get overlooked even though they get run by every week) and awfulness -- the worst part being we already knew some were awful from their last stint here, we shouldn't be surprised (Cochrane, Serioux)-- when we knew we needed to fix the midfield, where we have held two cattle calls, drafted people, and signed basically one transfer, one pick, and one developmental, only one of whom we use much (Palmer). The goofy thing is this is a rebuilding year without much rebuilding. They do realize we'll have to bring in new people for a couple more years to fix this, right? Why not start now? I think they overestimated their ability to "wing it" and to get another playoff year out of many vets. Wasted year, IMO.

At this rate, I'd really rather we DON'T play in the Superliga.

But since we will, I want it to be ALL reserves with NO starting 11 in the lineup for the matches we'll have to play.

I was sitting in the stands watching the Chivas training exhibition last night and a thought came to me, "omg, we are FC Dallas"...1k people sitting in a 30k stadium watching a heartless performance to get bounced from a tournament we only needed to win (3) more games in order to get the Cup...sad, sad, sad...I will say that not all of the team looked lethargic last night...Waibel looked pissed at his defensive counterparts and busted his ass until the last second when he had a bull riding competition with a Chivas player...Mulrooney gave it all until he was subbed...Oduro was all over the place but lacked the support or the skill to singlehandedly take over the game...Danny provided spark when he came in but no one responded to it...Superliga will most likely be a disaster and it is probably good we are not representing MLS in CCL this year...I think the only way we make the MLS playoffs this year is if a) our defense turns around quick (when does Cameron come back?), b) we find an attacking mid and get BD back on the left, and c) Ching goes on a tear in the last half of the season...I will be there to support the guys whatever happens...

    Go Dynamo!

PS - anybody know what is going on with ERob? He misjudged a ton of headers last night...is he suffering effects from the Casey elbow still?

say what you want-but I think Wade was a different kind of leader. Quiet and by example. the closest thing we have is Ching, but he's not the same guy as Wade. I think we miss having a "Wade" type player on the field.

I think Mullan is the next best guy that fits that role and should have the captain's arm band.

is that the problem? I think it's part of it, personnel and talent also have a lot to do with it. Don't forget the injuries either. I'd like to see us make some deals for some younger guys with potential.

Yeah but he'd be horrible at dealing with refs. He's always either either quiet or really pissed off.

I think it's personnel and talent more than anything. The Dynamo have experienced coaching and veteran players. It's not a leadership issue, though I think the limitations of some of our personnel approaches ("we'll fix it later") and game tactics (bunkering too often) are being exposed by the overall talent level plus injuries where we really didn't prepare for them (to be real about it, our a-mid situation was a stretch before Cameron got hurt....).

For EPL they often publish lists of in- and out-transfers in the preseason to give fans an idea who reloaded and how well. Viewed from that perspective, the replacement of two US World Cup rosterees with a sometimes Jamaican international, a college draft pick, and a development player would be cause for concern. We often don't even dress Appiah and Navas.

Bluntly, we've followed in the fine Astros tradition (and the 90s Rockets, too) of sticking with fan-appealing veterans a few years too long. The loyalty is probably appreciated and attractive but the product on the field eventually suffers when you do the equivalent of running Bagwell and Biggio out there every year while their performance declines. At some point we have to realize with the vets, particular in back, that some USL or college kid would probably be at least as effective as Cochrane, and cheaper to boot. And while I am sure people will dismiss this notion, LAG seems to find quality rookies every year since Arena arrived (eg, delaGarza and Gonzalez).

And you can't trade DeRo and lose Holden and Clark and start Cruz and Ashe instead and not expect a dropoff. This is why I was grumpy back when the rosters were set.....the limited amount of new and young blood on this roster foretold this season's struggle to stay playoff-competitive long ago. People didn't want to hear it then, and not really now either, but if you don't bring in enough talent and depth the team can try as hard as it might, be well-drilled 90% of the time, and it may not matter.

Lack of link up in the final 1/3 of the field really showed where we are at as a squad and of course not having two obvious penalty calls given as well altered the game.

Other than that we have the same talent level minus a De Ro and Holden at the QB position in Dom's diamond 4 midfield, thus we are very weak in spraying the ball around to unlock an opponents defense.
I ran across my old dvds from year 1 and in that the switch the field done from our '06 and '07 teams would make these current guys heads spin.

We don't posses and move the ball as quickly as we used to and it is obvious. We allow a rival's D to recover and regroup. We are no longer lethal as we used to be and a home loss to a shit team like LA Chivas is a snapshot of our crap football at the moment.
    That is all.
