Lets clarify our AO Ticket prices: We only charge $7 shipping if you order 1 or 10000, and the actually face value of the ticket is $68, but since me and Korey personally sort, catalog, track (so if you lose one, we can get it reprinted), pack, and ship the tickets, we charge 1 or 2 dollars on top of that depending. That extra money goes to help put on our Events. None of that money goes into our pocket. We are a non-profit and money goes back into the company. This price is still cheaper than ticketmaster for the same level of seats. Also this is also the price for standing and GA. (so you don't have some little Brazilian suburbanite telling you to sit down, when we score)

If you have ever been to one of our events, you know, either in South Africa or Domestically, we bring the noise and the fun.

So USSF didn't screw us specifically, they just made all the prices high for this game.

seriously send me a PM if you have any concerns we are trying to grow soccer the best way we know how.

If you are an AO member we can save you money on Hotels and Airfare to games too! So we are trying to make it easier for fans to get to games.

    Thanks,
    Justin Brunken

For the record........ I know SA and AO don't set the ticket prices. I am pissed at the high price of the tickets in general. I get it.... it's Brazil..... fine..... gouge the rest of the stadium, not us.

Well I think gouging the gen attendees as well is sort of shortsighted. I think a lot of new and casual fans got more interested in the US team with the WC so why not hook them more with an affordable live game? If hardcores are giving this a pass because of the price I don't think a casual is going to shell out either. I get they want to rake in some cash but this is using a backhoe and a lot of hardcores are calling BS. Maybe there's enough people in the tri-state who will shell out for this without batting an eye, it will be interesting to see what the attendance is.

i was all over this game when i first heard it announced... but the $70 ticket price in AO sections is REALLY making me think twice about making the drive up from DC... i think this was a bad move by all parties (why didnt AOs opt for the cheapest tickets available?) and will bite us in the ass.

what happens if we dont sell it out? will 35,000 people in the new meadowlands really be that much better than 25,000 in RBA? if you are going to gouge prices, at least make it in a good atmosphere!

Brazil will buy whatever tickets we don't. They're running buses from a few towns in Massachusetts alone.

ah, so instead of welcoming the boys home from the great effort in SA we are going to give them an away match and line our pockets. fantastic!

Thats all this is about. ..pure money grab..I don't think the USSF understand the ground swell that happened in this country during the WC.

i want to clarify a little bit...

i do not mind that USSF is doing a money-grab on the heels of the world cup, i completely understand that.. the part that pisses me off is that USSF wont do anything for AO members in terms of ticket prices.

But thats the point..why shoot yourself in the foot ? 70 bucks for a friendly on a Tuesday night ?? We have a chance to get people out to a game , once they go to one game..they'll be hooked..The USSF is too shortsighted .They want a money grab ? Go fill the Rose bowl against Mexico

People are going to buy the tickets. However, if they charge this much and then both teams bring B teams, that'll be shooting themselves in the foot.

Yes people will buy them, but those people will be clad in yellow jerseys with Kaka on the back . My point is we want to get those US fans who went to bars for the WC games to come out to a live game. Thats where the USSF is being shortsighted . Like I said , if they want to make money. Play Mexico in a few months at the Rose Bowl

yes I know. thats my point .My point is the first game back on US soil after the WC, should not be a money grab. If you want a money grab, then maximize it . Wait a few months, then play Mexico at the biggest stadium you can on the west coast.

what makes us, as AO members, different from everyone else? the USSF wants the money, Nike wants the money, Brazil wants the money. we will pay. that simple.

What makes us, as AO members, different from everyone else is that we follow this team everywhere they go and give the players the support they need to perform. I know it is all about money, but if they had dropped our tickets even a few dollars down to $65 or so, at least made some kind of gesture to show that they appreciate all that we do, I would have an easier time stomaching this.

I apologize for using the word sitting, I know we AOs don't sit I should have said stand... sorry. I am very involved in Barra Brava and AODC, I am no stranger to standing and singing for 90 minutes. I know that we don't have a choice on the price of the tickets, but surely we had the chance to decide what section we wanted? I know that we are always on the endline, but personally I would have opted to be in the upper deck for half the price in this situation... then again its not my call so ill just take a step back and roll with the decision that was made by (or forced upon) the powers that be.
    ------------

Also what is the deal going to be in terms of tailgating and banners/tifo inside the stadium? If it is the same situation as the Linc where we are pretty much kept on a leash, I will be even more pissed off about spending $70 and then not being able to support the team fully.

I know I am probably making a big deal out of nothing, but it just upsets me the way this is being done. USSF should really do more for the people that give them the most, and the first game welcoming out boys back home should not be a money grabbing deal. More likely than not I will pony up the $70 and be there either way, but I just felt the need to make my point known and bs.com is the place to bitch and moan :)

I'm pretty bummed I can't make this. Went to the last v Brazil game in Chicago and it was a great time and my ticket was half this price. (Saw the very first pack of AOs too...:D )

i'm probably still going to go, since no one seems to be on board with some sort of boycott of the game....
but what about a large Tifo display condeming the price gauging for supporters?
