    Txiki Begiristain Quits
Not a big deal to me, was never too impressed with his transfers.

    Toure & Henry exits confirmed
Barcelona's official website reads: "Barcelona director general Joan Oliver has said that the club has agreed the exits of Yaya Toure and Thierry Henry, but that at the moment the final moves are in their hands."

Osasuna's website confirms Azpilicueta transfer to Marseille
Between €6-9.5M, really unfortunate we did not even make a bid.

    Marquez to leave
"If there is a chance for me to leave I will leave" Marquez wants to leave if he will continue to see little time, which he will.

Talking about the prices we pay for our players: at least we saved a handy million or two by signing Villa before the World Cup... ;)

You should have signed him instead of Ibra imo.

Our management agrees with you. They tried and failed. They had a lot more leverage this year than last.

Manchester City have reached an agreement with Valencia over the transfer of David Silva.
From MCFC official website. Robinho looks to be out, hopefully not to us.

    Toure may stay?
Initial transfer agreement expired Monday and now must be renegotiated.

    Meeting for new Barca signings
Rossell will meet with Guardiola to discuss transfers, good sign I guess.

This. Really odd, since when is a 'bench' player not worth €30m?

I hope so to.Yaya give us options in the middle, especially against physical ENGLISH teams in Europe.

How do we intend to use Iniesta, Xavi and Cesc in the midfield though.
Will Iniesta be shifted more left?

Re: The prodigal son, the one who got away and the thumbsucking bastard. The Summer Transfer thread

I think so. Even if it's 4-3-3 on paper, it would probably play more like:

    ---------------- Busquets
    ------Xavi
    ------------------- Cesc----- Iniesta
    -------- Messi
    ------------------- Villa

Re: The prodigal son, the one who got away and the thumbsucking bastard. The Summer Transfer thread

I wouldn't be so confident on the signing Cesc, ATM I'm guessing the move is 50/50 especially after Ibrahimovic says he wants to stay:
    http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...movic-wants-to-stay-at-barcelona-2014488.html.
It'd be an awful waste to just let Ibra rot on the bench till January, so what Ibra centre, Villa left wing, I don't know.

    Next Year Lineup

    Maxwell - Puyol - Pique - Alves

    .........Busquets/New DM................

    ......Xavi-------------Iniesta..............

    Villa----------------------------Messi

    ......................Ibra........................

You had you right and left sides a little confused. Fixed it for you:

    Alves - Puyol - Pique - Maxwell

    .........Busquets/New DM................

    ......Xavi-------------Iniesta..............

    Messi----------------------------Villa

    ......................Ibra........................

Re: The prodigal son, the one who got away and the thumbsucking bastard. The Summer Transfer thread

I think it's likely to work backwards: if we can get Cesc at a non-stratospheric price, then Ibra will be quietly pushed out. I'd like Ibra to stay at least another year, but this club does crazy stuff.

Edit: Also, the WC has been encouraging in showing that Villa can be productive AND score from the left.

Re: The prodigal son, the one who got away and the thumbsucking bastard. The Summer Transfer thread

That may be an ideal scenario to some but I would bet it is almost impossible that not only Wenger lets cesc go cheap but also Ibra, especially his agent, go out quietly. That could end way worse than the Eto'o situation and make the club look way worse. I think that is a very risky proposition for Rossell in his first few months in office. Reports say Rossell still wants the transfer, so who knows.

Gai Assulin is officially out of contract after seven years at the club. Tottenham is rumored to lead the queue for his signature, it would be funny if he went there and started along Gio Dos Santos. Too bad we never sold him to at least get a few million plus a percentage of any future transfer. Otherwise, best if he leaves as he would have little room, if any, in the first team.
