We need WORLD CLASS young American strikers. Finishing is a problem. Not a single goal from a US striker in four World Cup games. You can blame two people for that fact.

    1) Charlie Davies - For breaking curfew like an immature selfish idiot which ended with a tragic car crash and his WC-ending injuries.

    2) Giuseppe Rossi - For foolishly choosing to play for Italy instead of the USA. He's already missed two World Cups because of that decision and he might never play in a World Cup.

I don't the training or coaching isn't helping with finish.

I do like RedBulls Chinn & Galaxy's Bowen.

Every young player WE NEED YOU.

Aside from goalie, Donovan, Dempsey, and maybe Bradely.

Everyone on the team needs to be better.

    ANYONE ON DEFENSE. ANY STRIKERS.

agreed... we netted 5 goals this WC and while it wasnt off the foot of a striker, finishing wasnt the biggest issue (though i would argue finishing NEEDS to be better). Defending was the worst this cup. Primarily simply defensive blunders that got capitalized on. Oddly for the most part it wasnt too bad, but ultimately our blunders caused early goals and forced us to play on our heels

both are proving formidable. We also have Jack Mac at the age of 17 in MLS and Taylor playing in Portugal. We've got some young potentials (i STRESS potentials), it'll be interesting to see where they stand in 4 years (most likely 8)

Right now, we could afford give them 15 or 20 a friendy, those friendlies would help develop much faster.

i like all 3 and really hope they continue to develop. 'boss and Opara are also developing nicely. Greg Garza is a converted LB and Lichaj is most likely going to be working his way onto the game day rosters at Aston Villa. Things could get very interesting by 2014

Is it realistic to expect anything out of Adu or has that ship completely sailed?

He will be our version of chicarito. He has the rare nose for goal. Pretty decent season for a 17 year old in MLS

i also see high potential for Jack. Tough group of strikers to beat tho at Philly. However, he's got a great nose for the goal and a great shot

Five goals scored in the competition; None by our forwards. A healthier defense, a competent and established partner in the center for Mike Bradley and perhaps a little more experience up front- Heck, I would have just settled for a clearer choice up front and this could have been a very different tournament. I think we needed a better attitude going forward from the group stage too.

Great players don't grow on trees. I know it sounds corny and all. That's the truth though. Top notch players in Europe and South America often have come from households where fathers, uncles, cousins or older siblings were decent players.

Buddle was there, Gomez was there. These guys have been on fire, but it doesn't help if they see limited time on the field (Buddle especially.)

I am truly perplexed that the hottest scorer in MLS -- not only quantity, but quality of his goals with his feet and head -- did not feature especially after he had two very nice goals vs Australia. Not only that, but he has an amazing understanding with Donovan (9 goals - Buddle; 9 assists - Donovan.) To ignore that and not leverage that combination during the World Cup is baffling.

As a whole, we need better finishing at all levels -- a LOT better. One of the problems that I noticed in the USSoccer.com clips over the last year or so is that, in finishing drills in camps, I kept hearing Bradley say, "good, good" when the finishing was pathetic.

I remember seeing Casey sky a ball and heard, "good"! This is a situation when a player had no pressure, no constraints, and hit it hard, but WAY off target. No direction, no precision, no quality. That sort of acceptance of mediocrity CANNOT be tolerated no matter what the drill.

With my U19s I'm the first one to pat them on the back if they do something good, but I'll also be the first one to let them know that what they're doing is not good enough ... AND what they need to do to correct it.

We need to demand more from the players, and they need to demand more from themselves.

Forget about Mwanga, Adrian Ruelas and Jack Mac are already playing with the U20s.
