Is this really necessary? It's our country's national team, of course I will always support the hell out of this team no matter how good or bad they do.

for all of us on BIgsoccer, no it is not necessary but for the general US public it maybe necessary. Unfortunately, the general public wants to follow teams who have a better shot a winning(I know tragic). I know the one sport where we might not win and the public abandons us loyal supporters and the team. I am a Loyal fan for last 20 years and already named my first born after a US soccer player. Pissed and frustrated at this point, but will ALWAYS support them.

    Amen, brother.

Unless I marry a (insert soccer nation) chick and move to (insert soccer nation)!

Until then, Hulkamania will be running wild!

What other team would I support? I may not be happy with the way we ended the tournament but I am still proud of our team. It's easy to cheer for a team when they are winning, only true fans stick around through thick and thin. Count down till Brazil begins.

Sometimes I hate how much I love this game.

Good job boys, you should be proud.

I'm very proud of this team. Haters can hate all they want and criticize all they want.

But this team left it all on the field in every game. They continued to fight and press against all odds.

They will always get my support.

I'm an American. I'll never wear the shirt of another country. I'll always root for the USA - win, lose or draw - when they come home as champions, and when they go three and out. They will always have my support!

I'll never abandon my boys, I tried to get everyone I knew to watch or get behind this team. They didn't get why I was so passionate, they just don't understand...I'm USA til the Day I DIE

Dude, I just teared up reading that. I'm such a wimp......This is going to be interesting, though. Are the casual/bandwagon fans going to stay on board and carry some momentum for the next 3 years, or is soccer going to be forgot like it was every other world cup?

I felt totally deflated today. With all the emotion spent the last couple games and now being out of the tourney with a favorable road to semis, I really felt like we missed out on an opportunity.
But it is always nice that even though the band wagoners are gone, the real soul and support for the USMNT lives with us, the hardcore fans. :)
    Indeed, USA till I die!
