Oh yea? I've got the same amount of rings as Dan Marino and LeBron James. I'm two sports like Bo.

Dempsey was a beast today, Findley could never aspire to the whole game efforts given by Dempsey.

Have you watched Messi this WC? He's been amazing yet he has failed to finish every single chance he's had.

That's who he is, it's no less an expression of his personality than the clutch goals he seems to score all-too-often, even if he didn't pull it off today: He's just kind of a dick, and I mean that as a compliment. Manifests in bitching to refs, and also in his ability to destroy an opponent. I'll take the rough with the smooch, personally.

Dude stop bitching and get on with it.
Deuce is one of the best Americans to play the game in the modern era.
    End of discussion.

Let's be clear. Dempsey and Donovan are not rivals, they are teammates. And there can be no doubt that they bleed for the red, white, and blue:

That is an awesome pic. Should clear up any question as to what is important to both of those guys.

    Love that picture.

    The whole team was tough.

Throughout the game, he seemed to be almost trying too hard to do it all himself. Dempsey played his part in this game and he played his part on the goal.

The game-winning goal was scored by the whole team in a sense. Defense did its part so the attacking guys could focus on attack. Timmy gets the ball, the attack gets started and the rest is glorious history.

Findley hasn't already scored 2 goals in the World Cup, scored the goal that advanced us in the Confed Cup, the game clincher against Spain, the opener against Brazil. If he had done those things, AND had missed those chances, people wouldn't be saying shit.

Both Dempsey and Altidore generally take a serious beating in games, yet get back up time and time again after getting fouled. I would say this happens because they are the two players in the squad most willing to take on the opposing team directly. Donovan does this as well, but not as much, and seems to have a better ability at avoiding harsh contact. Nonetheless, Dempsey and Altidore get knocked to the ground, a lot, but to this point are able to get up and still play effectively. Neither is easily intimidated, if they can even be intimidated by hard tackling. This makes them key to our success going forward, in which we will face Ghana and possibly Uruguay, which both attempt to impose themselves physically on opponents in order to gain the edge.

yeah but Dempsey needs to go through acting classes if he were to enter the Italian league. I just don't think he could fake dives the way they always do.

Oh seriously, people critique Dempsey. The guy was working hard and was just plain unlucky not to have two goals. He should have done better off that post rebound, but other than that he had a great game. Top forwards miss chances all the time. When you have a half dozen chances in a game, though, it's easier to put away a couple.

He's MOM if not for a tough offside call.

there is a very good reason Clint is tough ....

so what difficulties has Howard gone through?
so what difficulties has Manovan gone through?
how about Dempsey playing against adult men in a tough environment?
    how about losing his sister?

Bradley junior watched from a young age how professionals get it done ....

there is a very good reason why these guys are the way they are.

yep and they all have crappy finishing days sometimes...

this guy gets it. top players miss chances all the time, they are still top forwards. these top forwards typically finish a few of their half chances. clint, being a good player, would normally have put in that rebound, or the shot that hit the post, or one of the other opportunities...i bet he would say that he should have scored at least one if you asked him. again, thats because he's good and normally would. he didnt and therefore had a crappy finishing day.

it doesnt mean he's not good or didn't do a good job getting involved.

But still not as classless as the Algerian player who slapped a female reported after the match ....

These guys make the NFL look like a Victorian cricket club.

    You are so smart...

You insisted he was a poor finisher. You were relentless on that issue. Then you randomly decide "he had an off day" when you get called out on it.
