Maybe we can trade in Galvan and Forchetti for an upgrade. I think last time we only got the basic basic package.

They are not with the Metros anymore... they were just on loan and have returned to Boca already.

The idea of loaning players from the world's best club team (Toyota Cup 2003) is a great idea. But is the fifa transfer window still open for mls?

Yes, until the end of this month.

Hopefully Bob comes back with somebody other than Gilmar.

if Bradley is going to south america he should stop by Peru and check out Alianza Lima and there young crop of players
notiable Junior Visa, Reynaldo Cruzado, and Alexander Sanchez all under the age of 20 and all members of the first team of alianza lima that recently were crowned champions
if bradly is going for a youth movement alianzas youth divisions is one the the best in south america and its also one of the cheapest in south america which is perfect for us

I am Peruvian, but i do not think those kids are yet ready to get a spot on an MLS team through an allocation...Plus, it's troublesome for most Peruvians who have so far come to the league to adapt to the pace and physical play of MLS

This trip to South is estupid, why not to go to Central America, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica y Panama, they have a bunch of good players for less money, and can be much beter than any he can get in Brasil or Argentina, becouse they only wil give BASURA for the money MLS can offer, like Galvan and Forchetti

Just a quick question, how come Bradley or any of his assistants aren't in Tunisia scouting the African Nations Club, I bet they are a lot more bargains there than in Brazil and Argentina.

probably because every club in Europe is there and would outbid whatever MLS would offer

I'm not saying go for the stars but decent role players that play in Kenya or in Mali I would suppose wouldn't cost more than 250k to 500k I guess loaning in players like Galvan and Forchetti are all the Metros can mustard up.

I like to see Bradley brings in someone who can make immediate impact to the game and don't bring in someone who has potential ( save the training spots for young American players) I remeber last season he went South and brought back the Boca boys, what a waste, they did not nothing to help the team winning, and the team really went South in the second half of the season.

    Galvan/Forchetti RIP

Why waste the time and effort looking? So they can rot on the bench, while Nats' All-Star par-excellence John Wolyniec continues to wow us with his Maradona-esque skills and Kenny Arena continues to prove he is the heir-apparent to Eddie Pope.

If you're saying that Marco Velez and Tim Glowienka were better options than Galvan and Forchetti, you're entitled to your opinion.

But do you realize this is what the trade off was? Metro were in cap hell last year when it came to finding players 14-20. Galvan and Forchetti were cap-exempt and Boca was willing to loan them out for peanuts. You get what you pay for.

This year, we've got more cap room, so we'll see what types of foreigners we bring in.

olivares couldnt cut it in peru and he was pretty old by the time he made it to dallas

cristal fans were all glad to see him go

alegria never played in peru he trained in alianza but i dont think he was ever good enough for that team which is why hes back in mls

i dont think the mls has ever had a decent peruvian player at the right moment of their carrear(olivares would have been good in mls if he had made the trip over in his mid to late 20's

Bob's track record is decent when bringing in foreign talent, but with FIFA enforcing the transfer window it does make one nervous with so little time left.

Starting the season with Wolly and Magee as the strikeforce would be less than optimal to say the least.

I believe the window lasts till March 31, which would be plenty of time.

It's obvious we're getting in a SI or two in the next three or four weeks, my MAJOR disapointment is in the local writers.....why can't they start speculating on anyone?

Grabbi was one, but he went to Ancona.....right now we have NO idea who Metros might be looking at. I hope that once the team starts training again down at Bradenton, Ives or one of the other guys will start throwing around some names!

After all, thats what the pre-season is there for!

To tell you the truth this may be hard on us, but its the best thing for Metro. No hype means they can keep the price low, cause if it gets out then players/agents tend to demand more and other teams may want to outbid. Better to keep it under wraps and just suffer for awhile not knowing.

I'm so sick of hearing how the boca boys never got a fair shake. That's like saying Martin Klinger never got a fair shake. You put them in for a few minutes they don't impress what more do you want?
