Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. haha this is my favorite thread of the world cup so far
Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. As a USA fan you should know that coming back from 0-2 at the half is something very, very possible. I remember turning off the tv during WCQ when we were down by the same score, and boy did I regret it.
Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. One of the greatest things to take away from this game: It helped explain to the soccer doubters (baseball friends of mine, i.e.) how a draw can be so drastically important.
Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. I had a moment today on my way home from doing some errands after the game: A kid at the Taco Bell drive thru noticed my US Soccer jersey and asked what the final score was... I replied, "we drew 2-2 and really deserved to win but got screwed by the referee on a goal called back." He then said, "a Draw?!!! That's fantastic!! exactly what we needed!" Maybe soccer has arrived in this country if teenage kids at drive thrus realize draws are a good thing when you come back from 2-0
Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. Kickin' a brother while he's down man. It wasn't that I didn't care, my heart couldn't take it any longer.
Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. Wo ai ta ( I love him ) -- not in a sexual kind of way or anything, yet he'd definitely get a man hug. Just before the first half ended here in Shanghai, my wife was informed she should finish her drink and we're leaving this place (bar). She asked, "Why?" My replay, "This place is full of bad luck, we're out of here!" She doesn't quite get it (the US exhuberance or soccer for that matter), but she came around as I woke her up with a war whoop on Donovan's goal, didn't go back to bed, jumped up with some expression of excitment in Chinese on Bradley's tying goal, wasn't quite sure what to make of "Crying Man" yet thought it was "lovely", and ended up running around in some kind of Zhonggua Ren (Chinese people) victory dance on the game winner. Finally, she was PO'd at the Malian ref and kept shouting "wei shen me, wei shen me" (why, why, why) and a few words of dubious nature in Mandarin. Consider her in the process of conversion! That's 2 "Crying Man" lovers, and a new found US soccer supporter on the way.
Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. That camera shot was too perfect. Maybe that guy was a US Soccer plant? Reminded me of this excellent performance as well...[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngSZWRdyBe8&feature=related"]YouTube- Crying Girl on American Idol[/ame]
Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. I didnt cry today, but who didnt shed a tear when we upset Portugal, or made the 90 world cup. Thats right I'am a soccer O.G. Wear that tear with pride because todays game was special.
Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. No shame here. I cried from the moment Bradley scored all the way until the goal was called back. I was home, alone, with my dog, yelling, cheering, and weeping like a baby. He barked at me - but I'd like to think he was cheering too. I heard the whistle before the ref called it back so it wasn't as bad of a letdown, since I knew whatever had happened would be disallowed. Still, its amazing to come back and get the tie, with two fantastic goals to boot. All throughout halftime and the beginning of the second half, I kept thinking about 2006 and how big of a letdown that was - and here it was happening AGAIN, only against easier teams. All of this anticipation...for this?! And they pulled off the unbelievable - and almost TOPPED it!! This will probably go down as one of (if not THE) greatest USA WC game in recent history.
Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. after the first half i went back to my bed but then i was like no way win or lose or in this case draw im watching it i had the same experience as someone earlier mentioned i went to subway after the game with my copa america jersey on and some mexican guy was like "USA got robbed on that goal" man i wish it would have ended better
Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. Apparently they ran out of beer at the stadium just before the goal went in.....
Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. Great thread! Yeah, I love that guy. I was right there with him. Crying like a baby. I just love this team, warts and all. *It reminded me of the guy who buried his face in the US flag when the US scored their second goal vs. Mexico in WC2002. (Ah, I see somebody else thought of that too.)
Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. Saw that tweet this morning from US Soccer........congrats kid, you're now the face of US Soccer.
Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. I can totally relate because Bradley's goal was heaven and about a minute after the elation wore off I found myself extrememly emotional and had trouble getting it together for about a minute or so more.
Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. To be completely honest, any fan who is considering poking fun at this kid with even 1% of your being should be absolutely ashamed, and seriously take a moment to think about the event we are watching here. Thankfully, that sh1t was way back on page 1 or so and stopped. This guy, and the tens of thousands of American supporters in South Adrica are doing us, and US Soccer, proud. Watch the National Anthem at our first two matches... Go ahead and turn the sound way up. Watch the goals again, with the sound way up, especially Bradley's goal. Our fellow Yanks are drowning out the vuvuzelas and are crushing the Anthem. I salute each and every one of you. God bless this kid, I hope he gets to go to the Algeria game, and I hope he cries again. Those poking fun don't need to ever attend a USA match again. If you never have, don't bother.
Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. I wanted to cry after Edu's goal it was the winner!!THE WINNER!!! I JUMPED OUT OF MY COUCH, SCREAMED LIKE CRAZY GGGOOOOOLL!!!!! MY EYES WERE STRATING TO GET ALL WATERY, THAN THE F***** REF ROBBED US AND I WAS SOOOO PISSED I DIDNT TALK TO ANYBODY FOR THE REST OF THE DAY...F***!
Re: To the fan ESPN caught crying after Bradley's goal.. I teared up just watching him. And anyone who makes fun of him can die in a fire
