Lucky win for Japan but a win nonetheless. I still don't think Japan will reach knockout stages.

It all comes down to the match against Denmark. Denmark showed some great defensive skill before their own goal. It's going to be really hard for Japan to defend against their set pieces.

If they do the same thing against Denmark, then why not? Maybe they'll get six points.

Japan didnt play well nor Cameroon

and Denmark is definitely not the team they were in the past.

This group looks weaker than many expected... Japan has got precious 3 pts and I could see them advance but really in difficulty.

Japan won but they didn't play well. They did nothing in offense and they were thoroughly unimpressive in defense. Cameroon just sat back and honestly looked lazy and extremely disorganized.

Cameroon was horrible, no midfield play at all, long balls!

Japan didn't create any clear cut chances either.

Denmark is a very organised team and look strong on the ball.

It's gonna be Holland & Denmark to go through.

even when i hate japan (i dont hate japanese ppl. they're nice and well-mannered)

its in my genes to hate japan, give them long deserved credit for the hard fought win and let them enjoy it and don't mock them by posting this kind of vid.

Im happy Japan beat Cameroon, but i would honestly be devasted if Japan make the round of 16 and we dont.
The possibilities are slim but who knows...

I don't hate japan but I really don't think they will advance to R16. Netherlands is a given loss for obvious reasons, Denmark I just dont think Japan can crack their defence, a draw is a possibility though. Japan winning their first game outside home soil would be a decent accomplishment (kinda like korea in 2006).

I don't think this thread is malicious. It's probably did Japan a lot of good losing to Korea twice. Without that kind of test, Japan would not have had the backbone to pull off this win... remember how they fell apart against an inferior Australia in 06.

Korea's loss to China was also a great panacea for the domestic players. It gave them sense of how much focus and intensity they'll need to be on the WC squad with Park Jisung, Lee Chungyong, Lee Youngpyo, et al..

Oh come on guys. People are already discounting Japan and saying Denmark will make it, but you can't just go by future projections. As it is, there are two games to go and Japan already is 3/5 points there to make it. Heck, they might even advance with 4 points. But I'd say they're the favorites along with Holland.

I bet there are a lot of Japanese fans thinking just like me. "Are we that good or is Greece (Cameroon) that bad?"

It's too early to tell for both teams. I wish them well though.

As long as we one-up Japan every time on the world stage, I'm happy.

With that said, I can totally see them drawing against Denmark and losing to Neder so the ? is is 4 points enough?

The whole set piece thing is WAY overrated especially in this forum. Tulio and Naka have the tools to get it done even with Tulio's history of own goals.

    Denmark has trouble finishing, too.

Argentina and Netherlands will show how good Korea and Japan really are. I won't count any chickens or dismiss anyone's hopes until the second matches are done.
