I thought so too. They show all the Rangers game. Typically, the weekend morning soccer crowd is mixed. Rudy, the owner, is alright in my book.

I am thinking of going to Tribeca Patio Bar and Grill for Brazil games. They have some sort of promotion there.

For all those that work on the Westside or SW and have to go back to work....

I just got word that Fajita Flatts on Fondren will open early for the MExico vs RSA match.

The Wilcrest location too... but the Fonrdren one has new tv's all around.

    Looks great.

Do you know if Ernie's will have any sort of breakfast items for the early games?

So, for any of you that might want to go to a fun pub with lots of atmosphere and the potential for a bunch of US and England fans having a good time together, then go to the Arms. If you're the type to be askeered of some limp wristed Limey, and think that just because the owner has an accent and there's a few ex-pats there that it's an "EXCLUSIVE" crowd, then you can go hide elsewhere. The place fills with fans for all sorts of teams from around the world, with one thing in common (the ONLY thing that matters), a common love for the Beautiful Game.

In Rice Village - been around for 25 years. ;)

It is a beer bar - 260+ on tap and bottle. It is a low key place where you go to hang out and chat with two outdoor patios.. They usually are not big on TV - but the crowd they draw is a bit Soccer fan base (a lot of ex - pats from all over) so they are bringing in two big screens inside and a projector on the back patio.

I feel sorry for anyone who goes to the Discovery Green watch party. It is going to be hot as balls out there.

Went last night to check this place out.....holy crap.
tiny place with crap tvs. I asked if they were expecting a large crowd...bartender said no and that upstairs would be closed.

cool bar to hang out...but not for WC viewing. that's just me.
good luck to those that are going. ;)

If Ernie's is tiny then you must go to bars the size of Lakewood Church. There's at least five large HDTVs downstairs alone at different angles so it's easy to see no matter where you are downstairs. Upstairs is huge with a large balcony that the smokers love, and there's also a giant back patio with tables, darts, and cornhole.

Have fun wherever you watch the game.

I just talked to the manager on the phone and as soon as downstairs gets full they're opening upstairs.

to all at Ernie's today, well done. That was the best game I have ever watched in a bar in any sport. Shoulder to shoulder with about 400 people singing, dancing and yelliing at the 3 brits in the bar.
