Have to admit though, the Olympic and U-17 World Cup team looked good. Whatever happens to the senior team in South Africa, the FA should jump on that talent looming in the horizon.
No. The summary is spot on. But like someone said the coach was testing all the fringe players to see who he should cut. I would say only 4-5 from 17 guaranteed their stay.
All Manager Huh JM needs to do really is use the NK Greece match as a cheat sheet and employ a similar tactic formation. SK is going to make the Greeks look really bad.
As a Korean-Brasilian, i am reluctant to say that "los hermanos" can top the group, but i believe that Korea will have a good chance in advancing with them A colleague of mine, a Korean-born naturalised Argentino, resoundly believes that Argentina will cream Korea. Me, i think we have a good shot against them
You have pretty interesting background. So does your Korean-Argentine mate. Back to the topic, our midfielders have their hands full. If they keep themselves in the battle, i think we will be ok.
Argentina - Greece will qualify in my opinion. I dont think there is much difference between the 3 teams (Argentina are gods of course), but i think Greece's experience on taking results at important games will make us qualify. Rehagel knows the way. Many players have the experience for European and UEFA competitions. I know that Greek football is not attractive but what the heck, Italy has won many cups like that. Our positives are defense, power and counter attacks.

LOL but you believe in the Greeks, they very well may be the worst team in this WC. 2nd place is between Nigeria and Korea.
So far Greece hasn't shown the form that helped them win euro 2004. Without a big turnaround in the next 10 days or so, Greece looks likely for a last place finish.
I could see the Greece-Korea game going similar to the 2002 Poland-Korea game where the larger lumbering Europeans are taken apart be the high paced Korea buzzsaw.
Argentina 2, Nigeria 1 South Korea 1, Greece 0 Argentina 3, South Korea 0 Nigeria 2, Greece 0 Argentina 3, Greece 1 Nigeria 1, South Korea 1 Argentina 9 points Nigeria 4 points +1 goal dif. South Korea 4 points -2 goal dif. Greece 0 Points.
John Obi Mikel is out for the entire cup... http://soccernet.espn.go.com/world-cup/story/_/id/792889/ce/uk/?cc=5901&ver=us
Argentina, even with all the Maradona drama, should run this group easily. Might've felt Greece had a better shot of it til I saw their performance in recent friendlies. South Korea, and might be gifted a couple more dodgy calls to do so, will get second.
I get some of them, when the situations occur. But the rig-job they pulled against Italy and Spain made me stop watching a World Cup which had clearly fallen to farce. Frankly, Archildo, you should be ashamed for what was pulled on Korea's behalf.
Most will agree that Spain was dicey but to say that with Italy is really crying over spilled milk. Without admitting any guilt, The Italians are world renowned cheats and cheap artists so Im not sure why they are crying so much even still. Its ridiculous. Anyway, hope the Greeks actually come out to play.
I just got off the phone with Italy, they said it's Vieri's fault for missing 5 sitters and they agreed to stop adding the spooky music to the YouTube videos made for impressionable minds. Why would Korea be gifted calls in SA? Explain that one.
Well, I'm personally thankful to Panucci & Vieri myself but to each his own. Money in the bank. BTW, it's called the 'Italian Job' for a reason not a 'rig-job'.
