while i would ordinarily agree, their road to the final is probably the most difficult. of course, this is different if they get first place in the group. but if they get second, behind mexico or uruguay, they will likely face argentina, then germany/serbia/USA. it's pretty tough. i mean, neither germany or serbia are playing well right now, but i think both teams will figure things out by then. and from then, it's a toss-up.

    Latinos all the way..

    Mexico 6pts
    Uruguay 6pts
SA 3pts the host is helped to win one game
    France 0pts

Mexico and Uruguay beat both teams and then tie to each other.. Goal difference will define the winner of the group..

Mexico +1 over Uruguay against France makes us first in group.. we tie 0:0 trow the game both rest our players and walk into the round of 16..

Mexico (one of the few teams with any recent good form) first. South Africa second. Uruguay a larger threat than a France with no freaking right to be in the damn tournament. This probably means we'll see several dodgy calls advancing France over somebody, but I will stand on Mexico and South Africa.

Don't count out Uruguay. They could be a surprise team.

The true threats from Uraguay are Forlan and Suarez, El Loco Abuer is mostly good at set plays

Gentlemen, please keep it to World Cup soccer discussions.

    If you are...

    trolling
    flaming
    baiting
    smack-talking
    big-font yelling & gloating
    etc.

...it will be dealt with decisively. We won't have the time to painstakingly deal with every little issue with nuance and delicacy. Thank you.

Only 20 hours left to go!!!!:)

    Mexico wins the group.
    France in second.

South Africa in last, with maybe 1 point.

Uruguay could be a wild card, but I think France and Mexico will play better as a team and get out of this very interesting group.

Hey guys, new to the site. been looking for good forums to discuss the games and have bounced from cappersdelight and espn, this place seems good too.

I think justice will be brought here and France will not get through

You have to think the home team can win a game at least and give themselves a real chance to get through.

To be honest...I wouldn't be surprised with whichever 2 teams get through this group, toughest group to call.

Honestly I think France will be our hardest team scince all of them play in europe, Uraguay we can handle not all their players play in europe just some of their strikers and some few mid-field and acouple of defenders. South Africa we should be able to put up with them for 90 minutes of course were playing the host so who knows if they will get favoured through the whole game?

with all due respect to Uruguayans, I think they are over-rated. i think they'll be lucky if they get 3 points. I hope I'm wrong, because I would love to see Mexico and Uruguay go forward, but its very unlikely.

How are we over-rated? the only reason people are saying Uruguay can win is because france has been shit, if France was playing good no one would give us a chance. No one has said Uruguay can make the quarters or semis and some people even give us no chance of making the second round. We have good players playing in europe and the only thing we lacked in qualifying and why we had to play the play off was, playing the whole qualifiers without a playmaker (now we have 2), playing with shit keepers (now we have a good one) and we had a lot of bad luck with some ref calls and finishing.
In my opinion, with no disrespect. I would say mexico has been more over-rated than Uruguay, with most people saying its a certainty they will go through, even the media. Some people got too carried away with the win against italy, when 2 days later even Switzerland was able to take the lead against Italy and end up drawing 1-1. But Hopefully we both go through, cant see many teams wanting to face either of us in the later rounds.

Everyone here feels Mexico's overrated. Not long now till we see who's right.

Not sure what Mosco's on about. Uruguay's national team is predominantly European based, as is the norm. Biggest difference with past squads is this time all the players, with the exception of Lodeiro, were starters and performed well at their clubs.

Dude, I seriously didn't mean to troll, but you guys have a good attack, but are not so well in the other lines. I saw your game vs Argentina last year and it was sad.

Like I'm sad, I hope both American teams go through. As far as Mexico, I must admit I'm biased, but this is the best generation Mexico has ever seen. I feel we got good chances.
