I was just using Google maps and I noticed something I hadn't seen on the South African maps before, the little orange man, so I dragged it, the roads turned blue and I dropped him down to see a nice Streetview image.

Those who are used to streetview will know how invaluable it can be when planning trips, you can see accommodation, restaurants, stadia etc.

I have only checked the full internet maps, not sure about mobile apps, I will check on my iPhone shortly, but it's syncing at the moment and I don't want to disturb it.

EDIT: I think the google mobile app has worldwide map coverage (it just downloads maps as you need them), at least that's what it does on the iPhone, just not sure if the maps will have been updated yet.

"Google puts 3D models of World Cup stadiums online
    (AFP) – 7 hours ago
WASHINGTON — Google added panoramic pitch-level photographs and 3D models of the World Cup stadiums in South Africa to its online offerings on Tuesday.
"Street View" images of seven of the 10 World Cup stadiums allow viewers to explore the inside and outside of the venues in 360 degrees on Google Maps.
The stadiums available in "Street View" include Soccer City in Johannesburg, Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane and Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
3D models of all 10 World Cup stadiums and the nine host cities are available on Google Earth or using Earth View in Google Maps."

My iPhone has finished syncing and I have been walking around downtown Jo'burg on it, I almost feel like I'm there already.
