That is great!! I appreciate all of your efforts to make everyone in the Big Soccer community feel welcome to South Africa!!
newbie to the forum here but will be in Cape town 17th-20th, Joberg 21st-27th. I'm always down to get up with another footie fan for some pints and to watch games or any other cool adventure in the area.
Apologies, I've been our of comms because of a hectic travel schedule lately. I am very sure we can walk and use the park-and-rides at Wits with a valid match ticket. There may or maynot be small fee involved (depends if they charge fo parking AND ride or just the ride) As for arrangements. We will need to get an idea of numbers. So far it's 50-70 people! I need to get clearance from Wits to be able to braai/cater for so many on campus. Will confirm on Monday. Alternatively, if we don't get permission, we can have a snack at 44 Stanley nearby or perhaps even the Wits Club.
Indeed I will! Arrive around midday in Joburg on 11th, depart 9am on 12th. Arrive 1pm on 18th in Cape Town and depart 7 am next day
Just a quick note that I plan to be in Cape Town from 6/13 - 6/17. Wish I could make the match, but I may join the group at the Dubliner on 6/17!
Thank you for the offer. I actually won't be in Pretoria until June 22nd. June 22-25th in Arcadia and then June 26th-July1st in Irene. I've kind of lost track of this thread, but are there any gatherings those dates?
Cool. On the 25th I have to check out of my guest house in Arcadia in the AM, make my way over to Irene to check in there, then I'm heading to the 20:30 Spain Chile match (nabbed some Cat4 tickets). Don't know how much all of this will realistically take, but I'd be up for a get together if the timing worked. I'm assuming Irene isn't very big and hard to navigate!!
Sweet, count me and my wife in! We're going to Slovakia-Italy (EP) the day before so can pretty much head out straight away in the morning. We want to go around in Pretoria as well so we'll be probably aim for an early departure, have car. If you're free during the day we'd love to take you and the kids (?) out for lunch if you are interested?

On the 20th we have a night time departure back to the USA, I would like some information on what fun activities will happen that day. I'm a bit bummed that I will have to miss the Brazil v Ivory Coast game, but having another meet up will be a great way to end my trip!
