For the England vs. Algeria match in Cape Town, I bought a pair of good Cat 1 (front second tier, half way line) a week ago. Then yesterday, I bought a second pair. ! Excelente ! Edge of penalty box, 5th row, first tier. Unreal. Now that's worth 100 quid a seat. Basically I am dumping all my nosebleed seats, which were 50% of the Cat 4 seats originally allocated to me from the first phase.
Trading down. I just figure, why pay top dollar for the same game? If I can get cat 3's or 4's, even at this late stage I would sell back my cat 1's
There is a difference between a good Cat 4 and a lousy Cat 1, but not to pay the 10 X differential, I agree. I just could not score the additional Cat 4 tickets that I needed for that 1 game so I went for Cat 1 as some of my people will gladly pay that kind of money, in fact they unsuccessfully applied for TST's in the first phase. But even I would consider paying a premium to go Row 5 from the touchline rather than nosebleed!
The FIFA ticketing website now has 3 options: Buy Tickets, Check Availability, and Ticket history, Transfer and Resale. However, on the History page they still haven't updated with the tickets purchased in the final phase (the one where many of us stocked up on Cat 4s!). You have to go to the Ticket Area screen to find the recently purchased ones. I'm hoping this isn't a problem and that when I go to collect they all slide seamlessly out of the machine together. Anyone who has bought tickets in the final as well as previous phases have any experience collecting? Thanks.
As I posted previously (some time ago), in Germany our category 4 seats (€26) England V Trinidad & Tobago were just about as good as it gets. Literally behind the bench and just in front of the Football Association official party. Close enough to talk to the players.
Pazzinter, I was in the position you describe. I have tickets for 5 games through all the previous sales phases plus tickets for one game from the latest phase. It was no issue at all. Just stuck my credit card in the machine, and all my tickets came out. Actually worked better than I thought it would !
Yeah it will work fine if you are using your credit card, on the machine or at the help desks. However, if you do not have the credit card you may have problems. They will ask you for proof of confirmation (that page that u get that confirms your ticket, with the option to print) or an email from fifa confirming your purchase
A friend of mine picked up tickets for me in Cape Town the other day. I had bought tickets in multiple phases, including the final phase, and including some category 4s. He didn't have my card, but he showed the person at the desk my passport (which was clearly not South African), a power of attorney letter, and gave her my credit card number and reference number and she handed over the tickets no problem. I don't think they care any more whether you are South African for category 4s, and although I can't comment on the machines for the last sales phase, you should have no problem getting all of your tickets at the counter if you can't get them from the machine.
fifa does it again... http://www.sport24.co.za/Soccer/WorldCup/NationalNews/FIFA-deceives-hundreds-of-fans-20100607
Quick question. Those who are mentioning having recently picked up cat 4's without being South African, how are you doing it? Presumably it works via the scanner?
I have the same issue - I don't see the recently bought tickets (the links used 2 weeks ago don't seem to work). I hope my tickets are still there
FIFA are giving away CAT1 seats to locals for R140 for matches like USA vs Slovenia!! but they are obstructed views..
I am a newbie - to the site and to buying WC tickets. I noticed there are tickets available for 'unavailable' matches (like Brazil v Por) on sites like Gamestub.com. Are these legit? from reading everything, don't the tix have your name on them, or you need your cc to buy them in SA? How could they be sold in the US and claim they have them on hand? Will these tix be accepted at the gate? Any advice on how to get legit tix would be appreciated!
Sites like Razorgator.com and Ticketcity.com buy tickets from sponsors and federations. Well known operations like these are legitimate (but you will be paying a big premium)
Hi all, I might have missed the answer somewhere in the forum, but please your help. Tickets I bought on Friday (May 28) does not appear on the FIFA "resale area" but can be seen in the "Ticket area" from buy tickets, with specific seating places. I got confirmation email and my CC was immediately charged, but I afraid since I understood the important place to verify our ticket status is the "resale area". So, what is my actual status ?
Trying to sell our USMNT tickets (cannot go) but I'm unable to get the ticketing resale/confirmation page to come up--it switches over immediately to the home page. I'm having flashbacks to WC2006. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?
Re: World Cup Ticketing Part VI Question, when purchasing tickets, are there any other accepted payment methods other than the credit card?!
Still amazed that with this constant influx of yellows over teh last couple of weeks that there has been almost nothing for Portugal Brazil. Yes it is a popular game but no returns at all out of 90,000 tickets?!
its all an elaborate scam by Fifa to take over the world .. you can see a lot of yellows .. but can't buy anything!!
Im pretty sure that you cannot put tickets up for resale that were bought on the FIFA sub-site for USA supporters
You're right. Also no tickets to the semi final / final and I see a lot of fans selling their TST6 and TST7..... Its strange. Maybe we can call fifa and ask?
