If I can choose between a RB that's poor in the offensive compartment, but reasonably good in the defensive part and a RB that's good in the offensive compartment but pretty poor in the defensive part I don't have to think twice...

Who do we have that is reasonably good defensively? I'm talking about someone who can handle the international level, not someone who is decent in the Belgian league alone.

VDB is no right back indeed. He doesn't like to play there either so it would be ridiculous to put him there.

Lepoint works hard but he's just not good enough in my opinion..

    Lukaku
    Dembele_Hazard

    Defour_Fellaini_VDBorre

    Vermaelen_Kompany_Vertonghen_Alderweireld

    Gillet

Would love to see something like this but that's never going to happen I'm afraid :D

Well assuming Belgium is still a country after today I think Gerets will come for the WC qualification run for 2014 ....

It would be his best chance to become an absolute legend

Im gonna scrap De Roover from my 11, anyone chosing for Lokeren at this time is not worthy of playing for the Red Devils.

    Hahahahaaaaaaa! :D

We're screwed either way based on how great Germany played last night. Seriously who do we have who could possibly deal with Möller/Podolski. I'm not even talking about who could stop Özil!

We won't have a shot at qualifying for anything until the EC 2016 because of the expansion to 24 teams

    I'm being realistic, not negative.

How many of our lot would have a chance to start for that Germany team?

Yes, as a matter of fact we do.

But I'm not gonna spend my time on this again. If you rather be a sad little man wallowing yourself in selfpity "omg we so bad, we gonna lose everything" then that's your choice. I'm saddened by the lack of chauvinism by many of my fellow countrymen.

There is NOTHING that separates countries like Greece, Slovenia & Slovakia from us, yet they are at a World Cup. What they can do, we can do. Just because we had a bad spell, doesn't mean we're really bad.

And Belgian Guy, your remark about Germany is retarded. We don't have to compare ourselves to Germany. There are no teams in qualification groups with Germany that expect to finish 1st (except for the likes of England for the WC 2002) so that's not something we have to expect either. We have to compare ourselves with Turkey and Austria.

Can you give me some real arguments of why I should be so optimistic?

I think Belgium's talent of the next Golden Generation has the potential to be better than what Germany puts forth on the pitch. The problem lies in being to put it together and play like a team rather than a bunch of me firsts who care more about individual success rather than national glory.

As good as Germany was it also had something to do with the atrocious play of the Australians remember they were recently thrashed by the USA 3-1 in the friendly in early June.

As good as Germany is and the talented as they are I don't see anyone as creative as Hazard in their midfiled and they do not have a striker like Lukaku. Of course I'm projecting potential superstardom for those two.

Belgium is in desperate need of a manger who can get them to 1) believe in themselves 2) play with heart and tenacity 3) not be afraid to win.

We will see how well Germany fares aginst an organized side or a team like the Belgian teams of old (The USA).

The amount of talent in Belgium between 17-23 age range is the greatest I can ever remember and may be the greatest collection of young talent in Belgian history.

That's how I liked you best...

Club Brugge, well, they don't win too much anymore, so not much to hate right now. Have to admit that Perisic and Vadis are some fine players.

Different position. Thomas Möller is playing in the Eden Hazard role for this Germany team. That is another thing, we do not have anyone who can do for us what Özil does for Germany.

Hey now, let's not call people's remarks 'retarded'. This has always been a friendly board, but I've noticed a lot of hostility lately.
