i'm not above admitting that he has improved under aguirre's wing.

still, of the many life regrets i have, pushing him off the third floor balcony of the mall i saw him at is on the top of the list.

I'm an equal opportunity hater. I hate on both of those two.

This Jona thing will blow over with time. And Gio, sure he is bummed, but I think he will be professional about it and give his full effort to the team. Besides, It's not like a chance to go to the World Cup happens very often, he knows it.

With Mexico it's every four years or basically every time the competition is held. Zizinho will come to his senses.

Even if zizinho pressed him, abondoning the wc squad now will end up being his biggest mistake professionaly and he'll regret it forever

If he was going to be leaving the team, he would have done it by now.

I'm watching ESPN Radio Forumila,Vasco talked about Gio about an hour ago.

Aguirre said in the interview "Gio was down, sad, but now he is much more motivated, and he thinks this could be his World Cup,and it could be"

He isn't going any where,it was all his dad that said those ridiculous things.

I'm happy Jonathan is staying at Barcelona, my favorite club. I'm not worried about him leaving the national team to join Spain. Simply, Spain has a lot more options than Jonathan (so many options that if Jonathan was Spanish or became neutralized, he wouldn't crack their squad this year). Neither would Giovani. So if Jonathan's dream was to play in the World Cup... he's got a FAR better chance at realizing the dream for Mexico than Spain. And if he were to change allegiances, he'd set himself up for more heartbreak in 2014 and 2018.
The dos Santos' dream is to play together and their only way to make that possible is to represent the Mexican national team. This whole thing will blow over. Even if they were wounded, wounds heal and though they might not like the FMF a lot (who does??), they know that they have to do what they have to do to have 2 or 3 more opportunities to play together in the World Cup and that's something they're not going to pass that up.

yup hopefully it'll blow over but damn Jona is quite a jewel i would think the FMF would've been more careful with jona specially knowing that he has the choice to play for other nations and knowing how zizhino want to act like a little girl

I hope we win the tounament cause i love el tri but lets be realistic I think we have a better shot in 2014 with our youth coming up big time. idk mayb u americanistas know zizhino better, would he put his pride down and let his kids make their own decisions??
someone said that is the DOS SANTOS dream to play together, well i hope thats a fact

Good to finally here something out of Jona and good news he did not discard playing for Mexico in the Future. I think he should get called in for next years Gold Cup and Copa America so we can cap him. I still think it was a ridiculously stupid move by Aguirre and even more stupid method of handling it. Now I can see what the players issues were with him at Atletico, he does not know how or has the cojones to handle certain situations.

he's cutting a player off a roster. what does he have to do? buy the player dinner? write him a card? grow up. they're professionals. he did all that was necessary.

this has happened to every other national team, france, italy, england, and this kind of drama isn't being made, no one is making a big deal and no one is criticising the decision made my the person given the responsibility to make it. on the contrary, everyone (the palyers) accept the decision with respect and wish the national team luck. you guys are ridiculous.

Handled it very badly. Why not make the cut from 27 to 23 right from the beginning? He said he already knew he was going to cut Jona even before the Gambia game, even without playing any of the other games. Whey bring him in then play with his head. The guy is going to be solid for whoever he plays for. I just wish it will be Mexico. Even Lavolpe took Guardado in almost the same exact situation in 2006 and look at him now, he's a WC veteran. I know these guys are professional but this guy is 19/20 years old. A coach should know that you handle players differently depending on their character and what motivates them. That is the sign of a very good coach like Capello. That is why I brought up the Atletico stuff because I think we got a small glimpse at his downfall there during this episode. Remember that the players turned on him and he lost control of the locker room.

probably thought he was doing the kid a favor by letting him feature one more time before he got cut

and pretty sure Aguirre got fired cuz the high ups didn't like him, if I remember correctly I even saw El Kun wearing a Mexico jersey with Aguirre on the back

he lost control of the argentinian players, because of maradona. not because of anything else.

so what if lavolpe took guadado? it was obvious watching him play at atlas that he was a special player. meanwhile jona is 20, was cut from chucho's youth team and is still primarily only used in barcelona b. there's a clear difference. just because it worked for one player doesn't mean it will for another.

as for timing? he was given a chance and, as aguirre found out during the prep games, there are four-five players who play his position better than jona. big deal. rossi was in italys camp and was cut just a few days ago, did he react like the media and you guys are? no, he wished the team good luck and said he has no regrets. he's only three years older than jona. what about walcott? he was in england's camp and was cut as well. he reacted as a professional should. he's one year older than jona. see the similiarity in the situations? see how no big deal was made with the others as opposed to jona? because that's sports. what difference does one week make? he was given a chance to prove himself and he failed, that's fact, its simple. how did he handle it incorrectly? explain it please. aguirre doesn't owe a 20 year old kid anything, nor does he owe the media anything. he made a decision and it should be respected, as other players have respected their coaches decisions to be left off world cup squads.

did the media have a large outcry against lippi and cappello? no. do they say they handled the situation incorrectly? no. because there is no situation. it's professional sports. another glaring difference in the above scenarios is how big a role the three aforementioned guys play with their teams. you act like jona is the next makelele. he's not even a concrete first division player, where as the other two are important players in their respective clubs. this novela shit wasn't made with them, i don't understand why it's such a big deal with you guys and the media and jona.

Im glad Jona came out put an end to the novel his dad and the media created, it was just another player cut just like Walcott, Pato, Rossi, etc...and those were way more significant than Jona's

I can't speak for other people, but personally, it annoys me that a bum like Cuahtemoc, Bofo, and Aguilar are on the team and Jona isn't. I think Jona is much more deserving of being on the team than those guys. You may say, well, Jona hasn't played in primera division competition yet, and I would say true. But could those guys make the Barcelona bench or even Barcelona Athletic lineup? I highly doubt it. Plus, there is WAY more upside with Jona than those guys. I do believe, however, that Jona, Gio and their dad are being way dramatic about the situation. It sucks, I wish he didn't get cut either, it pisses me off, but I'm not the coach and I didnt make that stupid rule of keeping 24 players till the very last day, plus, he knew going in that was a possibility.

if jona wasnt on barcelona he would be a started for any team but he is da good the they dont loan him // they keep him close to barsa so he stays here his whole life , i dont understand why EL MISTER didnt put him to play in BOFOSS position , he switcheed marquez and juearez . JONA plays copa del rey most of the time and he plays as a creative mid field like EL XAVI :p

JONA could ajust to play EL TEMOCS position // bofo wont play in the WC anyways BUT YEEee
