    Walcott's reaction on being cut:

"I am very disappointed not to be included in the squad going out to South Africa, but completely respect Mr Capello's decision. I would like to wish the team the best of luck and hope they have a really successful tournament."

He's 21, one year older than Jona, and a starter in one of the world's best teams. What a difference!

Jona should talk if he truly wants to calm the waters. I wonder if Mr. Walcott acted like that naco Zizinho? Of course he didn't.

Even if Jona doesn't believe it, if I were his adviser that is exactly what I'd tell him to say.

Barça will be playing multiple tournaments next year. He would most likely get playing time in Copa del Rey matches. The starters need some rest after all.

Its a knee jerk reaction...I don't agree with the decision, but Im hardly outraged.

Somewhere TolucaFan is thinking....now they know how I felt when Zinha was left out.

Its unfortaunate what happened to Jona, but I think the outrage is mostly coming from the fear of how Gio will take the news. I wouldn't want to be Aguirre right now...most hated person in Mexico....second to El Bofo.

Im surprised no one really mentioned him...I know he's played well for us in the past, but he has looked like crap in the time leading up to the WC.

I just think Bofo is the ultimate villain...I don't see that much of a difference between him and Temoc, they have both looked mediocre, but only one guy is getting the hate.

I don't have anything against his decision, but the fact that he hasn't even shown his face is what pisses me off. That and the commercial. Now, I disagree with Jona's exclusion, but nothing can be done now, but the fact that he has sent everyone to talk to the press but him shows you that he has no arguments to defend his position on Bofo's permanency.

You have to admit though. It was shitty of Aguirre not to come out and say it himself.

I will root for Mexico 100%. But my optimism has been dampened considerably.

    Why?

Yes Aguirre could have handled it better but thats hindsight 20/20.

Would have been cool if he made the squad but I doubt he would have played much anyway. As long as Gio is ok, my optimism is sky high.

Im not buying that Gio wanted out.

there is on problem. people here, as well as the media in mexico seem to be the most irrational in the world, perhaps excluding england.

the worst part has been the comments i've read here, they're upset that jona wasn't taken just in case we were qualified for the third game he might have been able to play. really? that's why someone should be taken? not to mention the repeated nonsense of bofo and medina and cuah taking his place. completely different positions and the fact of the matter is, there are four players in the squad who currently play jona's position better than he does. it's extremely simple when one doesn't look at it as if they were watching their favorite novela.
