Who will be/deserves to be our captain? Who will be our penalty taker?

it's going to be either Torrado or Rafa

as for out penalty taker, it will also most likely be between Torrado and Rafa; i'd probably throw Gio or Guardado in as well

Temoc as captain means that he will start, so i don't want him as captain

however, if he does come in as a sub then he should take the penalty kick

Marquez is a well deserved Captain, Torrado second Choice and Salcido third choice. Agreed about Blanco as a sub-captain.


Penalty Taker: Blanco hands down (if he's starting) or Torrado. No castro please!!!! he missed against Haiti the other day!

It is surprising we do not have free kick specialist except Blanco.
Gio: average at best, Guardado: average at best---his last freekick goal was vs. Jamaica 2008.

as far as penalties, we need someone who has been in the spot light before and doesnt hesitate or feel the pressure, so cuau or torrado

I dont know why but I think Guardado would be good too

 

Torrado as captain..tiene mas entrega que qualquier otro jugador en la cancha y ese esfuerzo es lo que marca a un capitan.. quizas no sea el mejor de los mejores, pero es un jugador que siempre le hecha ganas y que lucha por todos los balones que le lleguen cerca... he's got a level head y sabe cuando sacrificarse

As for penalty taker, he could be a nice back up, but i don't think he should be our first choice. We could use blanco, but maybe even rafa should go over him.. and gio is a possibility as well, but he's young and who knows if the nerves will get the best of him..maybe one of our solid defensive players WILL be the best option, marquez or torrado, salcido..etc.

Captain: Rafa
PK taker: Blanco if on the field if not Gio

 

You can't come off the bench just to take a penalty.

 

Captains: 1st Torrado, 2nd Rafa, 3rd Blanco (if the first two are off the pitch)

Penalties: 1st Blanco (if He's is on the pitch), 2nd Rafa, 3rd Torrado

But given the fact that those 3 are both the most likely to take the PK's or be captains, i think it will come down to who ever is captain at the time will take the PK.

I'm suddenly very curious to know.

 

I've always thought Rafa made the best captain. The guy is our leader and has all the experience in the world. If it wasn't for those infamous red cards this wouldn't even be up for debate. Torrado is a solid 2nd in command, even though he's Aguirre's right hand.

Blanco should be our PK taker- it's probably the best asset he can bring to the team at this point in his career. If he's not on the field then it's Torrado.

Even though there's a stigma with left footers taking PK's, hopefully Gio and Guardado can start stepping up and taking some.

 

Rafa for capitan. Although Torrado has done a great job as well.

As far as penalties go.. I can't even recall the last time we had one? If cuahtemoc is on the field theres no question about it that he should take em.

I've never seen rafa or torrado take PK's for the seleccion. As long as its not Franco or Chicharito im good.

 

Well first of all it will be impossible for us to have a PK chance until the second game,as for captain I say Marquez or Torrado but according to Blanco he's a starter so maybe they'l make him captain too IDK....line-up according to Blanco.......Ochoa,Juarez,Marquez,Osorio,Salcido,Torrado,Castro,Guardado,Dos Santos,Guille,and himself.

 

I would like to see Vela as a penalty taker. The guy is calm in front of the goal. Granted he hasn't scored in a while, but everyone goes thru slumps.

 

Rafa is still holding it down out there. Stick with it.
