Comfortable in the end. Had the Mexican's not resorted to petty fouling when we were bursting through this could have been 6-1.

He did just did a few nice touches for the camera. He's got bags of confidence atm.

As you say, it would have been harsh for them to lose 4-1 with the way we played in the first half.

Fabio sure knows how to change things at half time.

Mexico play nice football at times but are way too lightweight.

1st half was poor for us, 2nd half much better.

Congrats on being the finest and most respectful fans ever!! I've never seen so much respect to another country's national anthem.

Kind of upset about our defense, they looked pretty bad, but our attacking wasn't that bad, I expected a worse defeat against a serious contender for the title.

That is something we can have confidence in. Could nick us a game or two. Wheras Sven and McClaren would leave it and hope.

I remember Blanco in MLS a while back and he looked a bit tubby then. Seemed strange him coming on.

Good player in his day though.

Mexico looked a decent outfit, now if they could shoot, they'd be a threat.

Good luck. I think your team can take that group if they can sort out the defence. Good movement in your team and I think you can trouble France.

Play poorly and win 3-1. Not bad I say.

As for the squad and my opinions on who played today

    First Class- going to SA

    Rooney
    Crouch
    Green
    Hart
    GJ
    Lennon
    Defoe
    AJ

Business Class- comfy but not eating the best food or the drinking the best booze

    Ferdinand
    King
    Carragher

Coach- avoid the food and not the most comfortable way to fly

    Gerrard
    Milner
    Walcott
    Huddlestone

Ash Cloud- stuck at Luton Airport

    Baines
    Carrick

Could have also been a 5-3 Mexico win.

We never used to do that. England fans were well known for booing during the opposition anthem. It seems to have completely died out over the past few years. We will probably still boo Scotland, Argentina and Germany though!

I agree.. I think the Mexicans attack can give the Frogs real trouble. Need to shore up the defence, and get rid of that 3 man backline..

That's true, they only beat the US 1-0 and 5-0.

The experimental side in the first half failed but balance was restored in the second half and Mexico were restricted to long range shots and passing outside our area.

Mexico came to give us a game, and we didn't turn up in the first half. Fair play to them and unlucky.

    What did we learn.

Both keepers did well. (I still like Hart)
    Baines was shaky.
Milner didnt work in mid (was it because Carrick was so awful?)
Carrick was awful. No more chances, I think.
Walcott looked good running with the ball but lacked end product.
Crouch has booked his place (probably already had it)
Need to see more of Huddlestone (with Lamps against Japan)
    Good and bad from King.
We can score from anywhere on the pitch...even when beyond awful.

Even though England won I am not very impressed. England does not have the depth to win the World Cup. I think they will have problems with the US. Mexico have serious issues putting chances away and defending set pieces. However this game was in England and the outcome was expected. If it were in Mexico City I would bet on a different outcome.

Shoulda woulda coulda, if my auntie had balls she'd be my uncle. If you don't convert your chances you don't deserve to win. If you burst through the defence and are brought down then you can pretty much assume you'd score. Had Lennon or Gerrard not been tripped, I'd lay a lot of notes on them two scoring.

Doubtful. We've beaten Mexico and beaten the USA with an even weaker team than that in previous meetings. Pull the udder one.

I'm serious. You couldn't debate the laughable muppet either.
