Kyle's very good people, but he, like me, has a very dry wit.

If I took what he said seriously, his ginormous melon would've killed me by now.

    He's a big dude.

look im here to have fun and all too. really what other reason is there for me to be a soccer forum for a d2 team? we all really like this team, duh.

I dont understand though how my comment is considered offensive? Using the F-bomb, while this guy gets away making racial slurs and complaining about anything anyone creates while he has very little to add other than insults

look im not looking to get in any fights or anything on here. thats just ********in dumb, there are only a couple thousand people who even know this team exists. we need to collaborate if we want it to get better. I just get pissed when people continue to insult me through rude jokes (after i've made it clear they offend me) and trash my ideas, even though they don't offer something productive in response.

I get on here to get something accomplished for the next game, or at least have some fun talking about the team. I hope everyone can respect that and each others opinions

I think he is more or less referring to the other definition of gypsy. That which resides in English folklore:
    "English Folklore: Gypsies

Since the Romantic period, Gypsies have had a glamorous image for writers and artists outside their communities, evoking ideas of freedom, exotic passion, mystery, and a life close to nature. In folk tradition, however, the stereotyping is negative; Gypsies are seen as dangerous outsiders; they are likely to seduce respectable women, for example in the well-known song about the grand lady who left her husband and child to follow a Gypsy (F. J. Child, English and Scottish Ballads, no. 200). They are suspected of cunning and dishonesty in their work as horse-traders, scrap merchants, and street sellers, and feared for their reputed power to cast spells. curse, and bless—a reputation they themselves fully exploit.

yes but have you ever experienced it?

I personally have, with a Georgian grandmother who endured many prejudices being considered a gypsy.

    SO ******** YOU BIG TIME!

Well sorry that happened to you. I also apologize for overreacting (I tend to do that when I detect that someone is insulting my intelligence), but I still don't think that Kyle was personally attacking you.

    Whooaaa here he comes
    It'sss Jaccckkk Traaayynnoorrr"

Look at this fun little merry-go-round of excitement I seem to have started.

Let me say that I obviously know nothing about you, and the last thing I am is some ignorant fool spouting off hate speak.

I've only repeated the same sort of jokes I've ever heard associated with soccer, assuming (shows what I get for doing that) that you'd understand and fire back with something yourself.

Had you ever taken it upon yourself so much as one single time to say that you found what I said upsetting, I would have apologized immediately.

Yet you didn't. Not only did you not do so, you only decided to respond with anger when I cracked on Oasis and Tottenham chants.

So, I find it a little hard to swallow this idea that you're insulted when it didn't seem to matter when it was said.

But, we're all here for AC St. Louis, and it's not my agenda to insult or slander anyone, ESPECIALLY because of any cultural or racial differences.

So, if I've offended you or indirectly insulted any sort of family, then come to the match and I'll buy you a beer.

I laughed real hard at this.

Mostly because a co-worker is a huge fan and I tattoo John and Daryl's portraits on him recently.

But I actually like it a lot.

I guess you're gonna need to show up Saturday to lead us in its debut, eh?

Yeah. After thinking about other stuff for a couple hours, I'd agree i got pretty worked up too about nothing, really. And it is totally fair that he knows nothing about me.

I guess I shouldve stressed it more, but I thought I had made it pretty clear about the gypsy jokes in the KC game thread:

But anyway, I just felt like you were pickin on me and all im trying to do is spark some ideas for good chants.

Now that were done talkin about our feelings like some commie pansies. Can we make up some cheers

So, I ran into this out of control thread at work this morning, and what am I listening to while I read it? Devotchka, who play awesome alternative gypsy music. Cool coincidence.

So, as we all mellow out after this discussion, everyone can listen to them and Gogol Bordello to soak up a little gypsy culture to pass the time until Saturday. (I bet the United Knights guys would be into it, the biggest Gogol Bordello fan I know is Bosnian.)

I wasn't aware people were so damn sensitive.

No one cares the fans themselves dubbed their group something anti-semitic like the Yid Army but say the word "gypsy" and I'm an asshole.

Eh, whatever. Wanderlust King is the shit.

I mean its the whole N-bomb reasoning. we can say it cause we are Yids, you cant cause your not and well beat the shit out of you. or in Jews cases sue the shit out of you.

    example right there actually.

and the thing is im not really overally sensitive, if its funny. but it just made no sense and seemed rude to keep doing it.
