    Diego

Diego is asking for 8 Million GBP, donovan is much cheaper and just as good of an attacking force. In the gold cup game last summer, donovan outplayed diego.

    Re: Diego

Diego has more upside. Can take free kicks, has uncanny field vision for his age, and sets up the attack nicely. Already took his Santos team to the finals of the Copa Libertadores.

Donovan outplayed Diego? Based on what exactly?

I've never been a fan of Nicky Butt. I think the TAG demanded to sign him simply because they want to see something get done. Most likely, if we do make an approach for Van Bommel and Diego, it would happen in the summer time.

Donovan played in the middle against Mexico. Arena actually told him to track Torrado to disrupt Mexico's transition from defense to midfield. Reyna played on the right.

And an approach is all it would be. Well that and some announcement by the management that they almost signed them.

Isn't he also slower than dirt? From what little I've seen, they are very different players, but either one could conceivably flop in England, even if Diego has buckets of skill.

Landon has much more potential.LD is way, way faster and that may limit Diego in big Euro-leagues.Oh and that miserble diving will not work as well for Diego. It remains to see how much game he will have without the diving.

After watching Spurs yesterday, they have got to try like mad for Nicky Butt. Nothing against Donovan, of course.

After watching Spurs today, they are going to have to try like mad to avoid relegation.
