I am defintely not talking about the jersey in the computer game---that's the jersey with the broad stripes. The jersey i was talking about was closer in spirit to the one in the photograph--however i dont think that's exactly the one... Too bad I threw away my old TSI Soccer catalogs..... Oh well, i dont think it's terribly important anyway...don't let it bother you...
ok in total there have been 11 metro jerseys including 2003's home and road, the first one was all white with black trims, then an all black with white trims and then a half black half white jersey all of these in 96, then 97 came 2 more ala ac milan for home black and red stripes and tiny thin white stripes too and newcastle for away with medium black and white with tiny thin red stripes, then in 98-99 came the one in the photo with all thin lines with black red yellow for home and black white yellow for away, then 2000 came the big thick just black and red stripes for home and black and white for away, and then 2003 came the new ones we wear as of now................so the jersey your talking about is definitely the one from 98-99 on hurtado in that photograph.
Inevitably almost every league I know has a team with red and black or black and white stripes , serie A has Juve and Udinese both wereing kits that look alike. I 'm all for the metro color scheme , but i hated last years away kits. the look like something my mother would buy .( 10 years ago)
Here's an intersting page with some Metro jerseys .... http://www.sportcollection.it/new_york_metrostars.htm
Dear Metrohooligan, Thanks so much for clearing up the confusion---you're correct the jersey i was referring to was the 98 one. i wasnt sure because in the pic i couldnt see the yellow stripes---but i guess when i said theyre thin--i meant theyre really thin!! lol =) Anyway thanks for letting me know that i wasnt going nuts!! Id love it if they could incorporate very thin yellow accent stripes to the current uniform!!
Nope. Me three. I also liked the everything about the Metros first jersey with the exception of the lightning stripes (which then killed the whole uniform look.) and when you mean looked like Juventus, you really meant Notts County. Right? Right?
