    Who?...............

Could you get a profile on him "NICK THESLOF"...........The fact that Klinsman was a elite player is not really a warranty that he could be a good coach, Fans just want some change, all this coach carrousel is not healty for nobody....

The U.S. should take advantage of his ties here in the U.S. and involve him wherever possible.

It's about the grassroots for Klinsman, I think. He's pushing that by playing recreationally now that his pro career is over. Maybe that'll get some people fired up. I still say that's he's not interested in working as a coach at this point in time. He's got some consulting business that's probably much less stressful and more lucrative.

I agree with getting Klinnsman to give coaching clinics to our top up-and-coming forwards. I advocated that about a year ago as well. :)

I can't recall which website it was, but about a week or so ago, there was a picture of a USMNT camp with the coach introducing Klinnsman to the group. I can't remember if it was the full national team or one of the youth teams, but nevertheless, I was very glad to see it!

The announcers during the US-Denmark friendly today said that Klinsmann held clinics for the forwards during the camp.

Hopefully it takes awhile to see the results of his clinics. ;)

No kidding, that was brutal. Razov...uggh. Donovan was at least exciting, but his finishing was complete crap too. I hope it's just off-season rust.

May be 4 years ago.... Klinsmann used to work with McBride in USMNT training camp. McBride did say that Klinsmann was a good teacher and he improved only a session or two. I am not unsurprise at all. Form various interviews from Klinsmann's teammates(Anderton at Spurs and Djorff at Monaco) I heard over the years, they said that Klinsmann liked to teach his younger teammates and was very good at it. The interviews were not about Klinsmann. They were interviews on players who wanted to talk about their own career and the name Klinsmann came up.

I hope Klinsmann will teach our forwards to shoot the ball on net from all over the attacking area...we simply wait too much for the "perfect" opportunity to shoot on goal--which ends up with our boys holding the ball too long and allowing the defenders to disrupt the play. I'm a firm believer in that things can happen when you shoot the ball on goal.

*Another side point--I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to adopt an ice-hockey strategy once in a while where you shoot on goal and have forwards around the net to look for scraps and rebounds to drive home. :p

You are 100% correct that that the National organization should do something about bringing Coach Theslof into the fold. He has excellant coaching style and has had the versatility of coaching the youngers as well as the men (e.g. Blue Stars).

I thought we have concluded definitively in numerous earlier threads that German and English coaches are detrimental to the development of soccer in this country! :)

    What ??

What is detrimental to the development of soccer in this country is stagnation and the unwilliness to try something different for a change

Lighten up! You might not have read through these earlier threads about how German and English coaches ruined US soccer.

Exactly Cypha. You can't score if you don't shoot. I remember what our HS coach would always tells us, even if it might not be the perfect shot at least give the goalie the opportunity to make a mistake.
Sometimes that is all it takes. Arena should introduce drills where only a limited number of touches on the ball are allowed inside the 18 before you shoot. If you touch it more than that you take a lap around the field.
And also teach long range shooting. Once you are inside 25 yards forwards should think about ripping it. Not trying to dribble inside the 6.

JK has been a positive influence on the Rogers kid. NT is U.S. and is available now and has been responsible for alot of the day to day development of this young man. Blue Stars have had great results as well as his U-16 team who were national Finalist.

Hey guys I don't usually post but this one is definitely interesting. I think Klinsmann is still coaching in his own type of way. He still plays semi-pro under a fake name in the so-cal area and from what I've heard he is a very good teacher and even is the first to act like a normal guy ( he even brings the ball bag for their games ). Wasn't it while he was trying to get some coaching credential he was goofing around with the Galaxy and he still has such a great touch that they gave him an offer. I think that though he's done playing competitively, he likes to give back here and there and if someone from national asked him in the right way he would coach our strikers. To me even though someone said it's our deepest area, until everyone is up there with Ronaldo it's just not deep enough for me.
    That's my 2 cents,
    Paul

Didn't read the whole thread, but I must say that this wouldn't be a bad idea.

His assistant is Nic(k) Theslof. Coaches the PDL men's Bluestars and several youth teams. If we cant get JK we can at least get the next best thing.
