I have noticed that in this sales phase it doesnt even ask for a guests name when purchasing tickets. is everyone else seeing this, or am i doing something wrong? also, the tickets dont appear in the main tickets page, along with tickets from previous sales phases. they only appear if i hit "sell tickets". again, is everyone else seeing this as well, or am i just an idiot? thanks
Same for me. Following ekartesh and jbauer : Since all tickets got my name, how can I resale 1 of 2 tickets for the same match I bought on the current phase ? Thanks. EP
Yip, I am also quite impressed at how quickly the cat4 tix disappeared. Perhaps the local ticketing centres are handling the walk-in demand better now. I for one will most certainly not be outside the stadiums, I'll be inside appreciating every minute of the games!
Did anyone ever find out what the deal is with the "You have exceeded the maximum number of payments" error? I tried to get Eng v USA and Bra v CIV tickets this morning but was greeted by this message, tried with two different accounts, but only have one credit card Hoping for more tickets to either game at some point.
I wonder if they are holding back the opener and the sf and finals to save face at this point. Almost every game is up for sale with less than 40 days til the opening game.
CAT 4s available again for some games. Also CAT 1 and 2 available for game 60. I'm looking for this game but am going to hold on for CAT 4s. ;-)
When you buy the tickets, are you supposed to get an email immediately after? I have my confirmation page printed, but no email has arrived yet.
How do u get to buy cat4, when i click to buy tickets it only show 1 to 3 but i did get cat4 a couple of weeks ago??
Definitely there'll be empty seats. It's a shame that few foreigners will be there. I expected more than a million like in Germany
Yes it is a shame but why should it be like Germany. Germany has borders with 9 football mad nations and many others easily gettable to. It is in the prosperous part of Europe and was cheap and easy for many people to get to and more importantly travel within. You are not alone as many people thought the demand would eb like Germany, certainly FIFA and the awful MATCH but it was not going to happen even without the recession. 2002 was a far better guauge as to what to expect.
Sorry Mate but thats an ignorant thing to say Sam. South Africa has made massive sacrifices and done all they possibly could re stadiums, transport etc etc-but the global financial crisis has been incredible,as have the negative press and MATCH Many countries outside Europe are totally capable of hosting
furthermore, in Germany it was feasible for people to pop over and see one or two games on a short break. That just isn't practical in South Africa as it costs so much to go there. There may have been a million fans, but they certainly weren't all there for two weeks or more. The really sad thing is that loads more would have loved to have gone, but were put off by FIFA's priority of organising things with the main focus being on maximising revenue, rather than actually thinking about the needs of the supporters.
The one thing still still haunts me is MATCH putting all eth hotels on FIFA s and stating all unavaible. then when we had the nerve to actually ask to stay in a hotel just just said no chance. A total bunch of w*nkers.
Theoretically 1 month + is still plenty of time to fill these seats. Guess it might become an issue of whether/when Fifa decides to bite the bullet and lower some of the prices to Cat 4 to make them more accessible to South Africans. I agree with a previous poster -- with this many tickets available on relatively short notice, there are far fewer people able to act on this and plan a last-minute trip to the WC, whereas in Germany many fans were able to hop on a quick train or connecting flight to just catch a game or two. Here, a greater fraction of the tickets still available will need to go to South Africans and those who had already planned their trips and are looking for more tickets. However, the quick "selling out" of the earlier phases has discouraged many people from making travel plans in the first place... It feels like a cluster right now but I'm sure it will end up being a great atmosphere...
The atmosphere in SA is already amazing and it is only going to get better. I think anybody that can make it here will be very suprised at how well prepared the country is and how passionate the people are about being the host nation.
I'm beyond psyched for the trip. Also I recognize that the ticketing process has been a mess but I'm I've actually benefited from it as I was not in a position to plan this >1 year ago but am now, so good thing I can still get tickets to a solid number of matches... So no complaints here
I couldn't agree more. The atmosphere already here in Jo'burg is tangible. People have flags flying all over the place and everyone's wearing soccer jerseys. It's only going to get better come June 11th. We as South Africans, rich and poor, have taken on the mantle of buying most of the tickets - we're almost there!
Considering they are now reselling tickets, the answer is NEVER, they already told us no promise your tickets will be resold, if you cant use them then tough luck, they already got paid.
