Ah yes, the Cleetus smackdown match Franchino put a hurtin onMathis right in front of the 8 Revs fans I have one of Adin's gloves from that game There was also a match at the old Foxboro The Mid-Michigan Bucks beat the Revs They opened one side of the stadium general admission and only about 1500 fans showed
There also was another USOC match at the old Boro where the Revs beat Charleston (I think that was the year they were on their was to losing to LA in the Final)
So for those (like me) that still care about this tournament, the semifinals are set. DC United will host the Columbus Crew and Chivas will be playing in Washington against the Sounders. We've got a chance at having a rematch of last year's final if DC and Seattle win.
I was at that game with my son. He was thrilled with the seats we got. Open cup matches used to be the bomb. You'd sit right behind the bench and the players who weren't in the game would come over and shake hands and sign my kids shirts.
