I agree he does need some minutes and he seems like he can be a good spark plug off the bench but lets not get to carried away with our expectations for him.

I don't see why not because with his pace and work rate is a better compliment to Angel as he can chase around plus he is always in good spots for some reason. Not to mention that Ibrahim doesnt impress me

    Re: Attention Mr. Backe...

It's hard to take much from a game like tonight where both teams cleared out the benches.....especially when it's the Union's bench.

Having said that, Chinn did make some very good runs and seems to have shown that he does have the ability to finish and be at the right place at the right time. It's not like we're scoring bushels of goals anyway, so it wouldn't hurt to start him upfront and see what he can do for 90 minutes in an MLS regular season match.

However, I don't see Backe taking Salou Ibrahim out of the starting lineup, after scoring his first goal last Saturday. Most likely scenario is Chinn coming in for him in the 2nd half vs DC United.

    Agreed.

Chinn got a hat trick in one of the pre-season games, and now he scored two goals in an Open Cup match.

I don't ever want to hear the words "Kandji" or "Salou" ever again.

Chinn is the new starter until Thierry Henry/Del Piero/Ronaldinho/Raul shows up to replace him.

I say for Angel that has been doing a shit for more than 20 games....Just making spot goal or penalties... last year 60% of his goals was penalties...

Chinn is ready to takeover Woly's spot as our super-sub. Woly is done, dudes. He looked awful out there and seemed to have trouble even keeping on his feet. It's time to go with the young hotshot off the bench.

I thought his performance was mixed. Always good to get goals and he seems to have a knack for being in the right place, but he also coughed up the ball a lot, seemed a little clueless about offside rule at times - stole the ball from an opponent when he should have taken himself out of the play - and didn't seem to have a bucket of tricks, moves, etc. I'm hoping he gets more chances to show he can take his goal scoring to MLS games, but I also don't think he's any big upgrade from our other options.

What the Fu)ck Angel has been doing the last two years, just penalties, any player in one leg can do that...Chinn in 90 minutes of play have duplicate the goals that Angel has made in 450 minutes...Angel, Wally and Kandji days are numbered, we need changes right now, Wally look and make the ridicule of him self and the team pretending to be a futbol player.....stop that stupid sentimentalism, with that no body win games....

both Chinn and Tchani are getting in position to come off the bench in league matches, good rookie class!

Tchani easily outplayed and manhandled Fails Torrez and Okugo. So much for all the BS written earlier about him. We finally got to see what he can do rather than listening to hearsay and it looked good. This kids ready for some PT.

Chinn in a head to head comparison with Mwanga was easily the more productive player.

Hopefully this enlightens Soler and Backe as to what can be had if they just hold on to and use their draft picks.

agreed, they probably have to start Lindpere and Robinson in the middle at DC but if its not working Tchani should get the call around 60'.

I dont think anyone doubted Tchani's ability, it was his work rate and his mental toughness.

Chinn has pretty good positioning sense, he couldve had a hat trick from just being at the right place.

Both can play a part in the sub bench, they will get another chance to shine on the 12th vs the Revs.

I agree with the "Chinn is the new Woly" statement. His style, his tenacity, and his ability to be in the right place at the right time for the "garbage" goals is just like Woly.

As for last night, was I mistaken, or wasn't that Califf playing in the back line? Don't give me the excuse that he looked good because Philly had their second string in. He was up against a US Nat while scoring goals.

Now, as for replacing Angel, no. He should replace Salou at minute 75 or so.

    Re: Attention Mr. Backe...

I agree, u can't be sentimental when it comes to pulling players. I also think that if u put jpa in that game last night he might have had 4-5 goals. Give chinn kudos for being at the right place @ the right time. That's part of being a forward, however, I don't think he's very skilled at all. Had a lot of trouble controlling the ball, passing
    & making runs.
I think he's a geovani savarese. That describes him perfectly. I think were a more developed soccer nation now. But to b fair, he. Is a rookie and he needs time to develop, he very well can prove me wrong. I hope he does it'll b great for the team. U can't go crazy over 1 game either, although I think he probs earned himself a substitution role.

As for jpa, do u guys think he's still injured? He's a shell of himself. Did he really just get old? We still need an offensive midfielder. Our current one works his ass off defensively. He's a hell of a player, I feel. Bad for him. He gets really beat up every game. He's exhausted by the 75th minute. We need some1 to complement all that work on the offensive side. Some1 who'll take on players, distribute the ball. That'll help out jpa.

I dont think jumping the gun and saying that Chinn is the answer at forward is a good statement. Backe said it himself, Chinn is a "strange one" with a nack to score "strange goals" and "tap-ins". Chinn is a little unorthodox and has luck on his side. He's not the most technically gifted forward on our roster, but I would rather have him on the RedBulls then on one of our opponents roster. The reference to him being like Gio and Wolly are great comparisons.

I definitely see him as the replacement for Wolly. Our main focus has to be on Agudelo. The kid has a lot of raw talent. He just needs to be able to keep his head up and look to make a smart pass or smart run. There is a lot of potential in him and he definitely has more tricks in his bag. Lets just hope that RedBulls can bring in a couple of great DPs that can have a positive impact on Agudelo. You can't deny that Altidore had some positive influences playing alongside Angel and Youri in his first couple of seasons.

I don't think he should start just yet, but should be given more pt.
He did good against Phillie but to start just from this game does not make sense.
