They're streaming video of the Red Bulls-Philly USOC game tonight, which adds a little hope that DCU will stream the game against FCD tomorrow. Meanwhile ... One can only laugh.
So, yes, Goff confirms: James and Allsopp are out. Perhaps we should play Hamid in goal and Perkins in the field ... ... Edit - But for what it's worth, there will be video.
Our FO is tweet'ing that they will have a stream so you can catch it there if your boys don't get one up (seems very unlikely since we will need access to your feed to stream it). http://twitter.com/fcdallasweb Looking forward to it, good luck.
Whoever plays GK is going to have an interesting night considering what the backline will look like Defenders: Pick 4 from these 6 choices Talley, Rice, Adams, Graye, Wallace, McTavish [Out: Burch, Jakovic, Namoff, James, Pena] EDIT: As was noted on the roster thread, Rice was injured earlier this year. Anyone know if he has recovered/gotten doctor's clearance to play again since his concussion?
Um, isn't a single elimination tournament in effect a playoff game? Just being difficult. Will be monitoring the Caps game constantly myself from sec. 231 in RFK.
Per DCUnited facebook: "dcunited.com will web cast tomorrow's U.S. Open Cup play in match. Matchday Edition (line-ups and twitter chat) will start at 6:30 PM and the web cast will begin at 7:15 PM. Tony Limarzi will offer play-by-play."
This pisses me off to no end. Again with the hammies and the groin injuries. Seriously?!?! How is this not a training issue?
From the Roster thread: Available: Adams, Castillo, Cristman, Graye, Hamid, Khumalo, McTavish, Moreno, Najar, Perkins, Quaranta, Rice, Talley, Wallace (12 field players and 2 keepers) Probable/possibles (probably shouldn't yet to be safe): Barklage, Simms Not available: Allsopp, Burch, Jakovic, James, Namoff, Pena, Pontius, Quinn. Is Shipalane around?
He was on loan to Richmond but I don't know the rules about that. The Battery is in town. Maybe we can borrow some of their players.
Right, that's why I asked if he was around. A week ago, Goff described the loan terms in this way: That would suggest that he's around, and thus available for us to use. But I wanted confirmation.
I think if a team needs ,they can break the terms of a Loan and bring him back if needed..... which we mioght need him either up front or on the wings.
Again, the terms Goff described make clear that "breaking the terms" isn't an issue at all. There's no "breaking" required.
Has he played with them? Isnt there issues with player passes, and a player being 'on loan' to another club and not being able to plya with his originial club as a result?
In a common competition, yes. If he'd played for Richmond in a USOC match, he couldn't play for us in one. But 1) he hasn't played for them in a USOC match, just a league match; and 2) this match Wednesday night isn't really a USOC match. It's an MLS-sponsored match in a mini-playoff that MLS is using to assign one of the USOC slots that the USSF gives to MLS.
In other words, if there is a full moon and it is in the house of Aquarius and Jupiter aligns with Mars and there's a flock of geese that flies over RFK from East to West precisely at noon, then we can use him for the match.
I really don't understand what you mean, sorry. All signs are that we can use him with no problem. I was just hoping someone had seen confirmation of that somewhere.
Ohhhhh thanks for clearing that up. Didnt know this was a 'MLS thing'. So basically this is like a 'friendly' for a spot. I am guessing this might not even be FIFA governed? LOL
If this really is a purely MLS deal, then we could theoretically pull in pretty much anyone we could get.
