    Hi guys,

all one gets on https://ticketresale.fifa.com/Resale/Welcome.aspx (so the official and only way to do resale) is for the last days:

The whole ticketing process is the worst ever for a World Cup and this is the first one solely organised by FIFA. Thanks for that.

Another example? The first said, the official ticket confirmation letters will be send by post by end of March, than it was and of April and now it is end of May. I am already flying to SA beginning of May... and FIFA has no clue on how I can than collect my tickets, bc the original confirmation is needed. Well organised again, thanks FIFA! And why not send the tickets (like they did for the WC 2006 in Germany) if they can send the confirmations? I can resell them anyway!

Another example? I also got four different eMails from FIFA about what is needed for collection of tickets.. they all state different things: onlyconfirmation letter, confirmation letter and passport, only credit card the tickets where paid with, all of that... many options!

Another example? The ticketing machines at Durban, CT and JNB airport will be opened by 11 June... how nice... so for those few people that arrive on the date of the first match? People generally arrive before something happens, not after!

I called the FIFA ticket hotline in Switzerland and they said (and obviously do not give this in writing) that one can collect tickets by all means and only need one form of identification and the ticket application number! I asked why that, bc there are automatic machines that will not be able to read my foreign ID or so. Useless information!

You can see, I am quite frustrated with FIFA and I will for sure only attend Africa Cup of Nations in future... bc they at least keep to their information when issuing tickets.

    Cheers
    Christian

    2. All you will need is your payment card and a copy of the email FIFA sent you when you first purchased your tickets (it should have your unique reference # on it which if the machine doesnt work, they can pull up on their system)

Hope this helps and enjoy your trip.

I know that, I just want to show how unorganised FIFA is!

And regarding your second point, this is not what FIFA official say. They say (in an eMail I received on 12 April) regarding getting the tickets:

The following documents MUST be provided by the person who applied and paid the tickets:
    * Card used for payment (or in case payment was done by bank transfer an copy of the transfer receipt)
    * Passport or SA ID card
    * The official FIFA ticket confirmation as an original (to be send to you by post latest end of May)
    * Your unique ticket application number

    FIFA Web site say:
"It is essential for the Applicant to have the payment card used to pay for the Tickets together with the FIFA Official Ticket Confirmation; another form of identification (e.g. passport) may also be required. " (http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/organisation/ticketing/faqinternational.html)

    Hi Guys,

I have 2 USA v Algeria tickets in Pretoria spare. We are now going to England v Slovenia on the same day so can't attend.

Would be open to any offers of swaps etc. Specifically England v USA on the opening day would be amazing, but willing to listen to what is available!

    Cheers, Tom

We received our ticket confirmations in the mail as well.

Take everything just in case to pick-up your tickets. I dont think it will be that big of an issue though.

So, I've put my TST-6 tickets up for sale on the website.
There is a problem though. When you go to buy more tickets, there is no option to buy TST tickets. Does that mean that they won't be sold in one bunch? If so, this is really stupid. African planning for you I guess.

Doubt it has anything to do with "Africans" and more so with Fifa...

    You're probably right.
Either way, it's pretty poor planning.

Oh there'll be plenty available in SA. Fifa can spout all they like about have names on tickets will be checked against passports etc etc, in reality no one checks a damn thing. You will be able to buy tickets for all games on the black market in South Africa.

I am looking to transfer/sell my tickets to a friend. Does anyone know the best phone number to call to get details on my options? Just want to talk to a live person. Or if you know a good email address that doesn't just cut and paste the transer policy as a response. Thanks!

If he is a GOOD friend, just give him your credit card and he can pick them up at a ticket kiosk in SA.

I read on the FIFA website they would check ID as well. Is that not the case? I guess if it's a kiosk they can't exactly check ID's.

We need someone from SA who actually picked up tickets through the ticket terminal to tell us how it exactly works.

Others on here have already posted that they just went to the kiosk with their credit card, and printed out the tickets - no problems

Yes especially since the main FIFA servers handling the ticketing requests are in the USA and UK.

Stands to reason then if you want to avoid the annoying hassle of the ticket transfer/resale policy (if you can't make some of your games), you can just give your credit card to your friends, even though they are not the "main applicant," and have them pick up the tickets, correct?

I'm thinking about going that route, but want to be sure so that I don't screw them out of tickets while I lose all of my money.

    Thats what I'm doing.
I'm also taking a photocopy of their passport and a letter signed by them authorising me to collect the tickets on their behalf
