Re: Rangers v. Celtic, the Old Firm @ Gillette Oh Daily Mail, where in Boston is Foxborough? 70,000? No way. I'm sorry when the Irish national team draws like crap here...I mean I'd expect a large crowd, 30-40K, but not a Patriots-style crowd. It'd be interesting but eh. Another soccer event not involving the Revs that later on will be pointed to as proof that soccer is a priority to KSG, benefiting us not at all. Pass. EDIT: oh and seconded on the TeamOps thing. I heard horror stories about the Mexico/Brazil friendly.
Re: Rangers v. Celtic, the Old Firm @ Gillette I like it, I'd go. Hopefully they'd schedule it after the World Cup.
Re: Rangers v. Celtic, the Old Firm @ Gillette Looking forward to it. A game like this will most likely provide the best/purist football/soccer atmosphere that Gillette will see all season. I had a blast at both the Mexico & Venezuela vs. Brazil matches. If the matchup is proper then sometimes even the friendlies have a little more at stake and it shows on the pitch and stadium environment. I do wish the Revs were giving a go at either of these clubs to see where they stand.
Re: Rangers v. Celtic, the Old Firm @ Gillette The caption of that picture is, "It's 7 AM- do you know where your Tims are?" I know I couldn't stay away but ahh...whatever. We'll see if it even happens. Cheaper than airfare to Glasgow
Re: Rangers v. Celtic, the Old Firm @ Gillette So, I presume we can count on us wearing a split kit, in the manner of those Ray Bourque Bruins/Avs jerseys?
Re: Rangers v. Celtic, the Old Firm @ Gillette Any excuse to post this: In fairness to Rangers Rob & Chowda, I'll also put up this one: The internet is amazing. We come up with it, few months later its a banner in Scotland haha...
Re: Rangers v. Celtic, the Old Firm @ Gillette They probably should have chosen a picture of the stadium in soccer configuration (like the MLS cup or a Brazil game)
Re: Rangers v. Celtic, the Old Firm @ Gillette We need Bill Clinton to come by and broker a peace deal between the two clubs. Oh wait, that picture says "tea party". That kind of anger will mess up his high.
Re: Rangers v. Celtic, the Old Firm @ Gillette If Robbie Keane is coming on a one-way ticket, I'm in. Otherwise, pass.
Re: Rangers v. Celtic, the Old Firm @ Gillette Just think of where they would be without him this season. Seconder, maybe even secondest place.

Re: Rangers v. Celtic, the Old Firm @ Gillette Arguably the most heated soccer rivalry in the world vs. a private security firm that arrests people for dropping the f-bomb. TeamOps has no idea what kind of crap they just stepped in. Count on this game selling out, Celtic and Rangers fans will travel across the nation to watch an Old Firm match.
Re: Rangers v. Celtic, the Old Firm @ Gillette AC v Inter is also arguably the most heated rivalry, and it went by relatively smooth from what I've gathered.
Re: Rangers v. Celtic, the Old Firm @ Gillette Boston Celtics vs NY Rangers? Basketball and hockey? I'm confused. I'm there. F***ing awesome.
Re: Rangers v. Celtic, the Old Firm @ Gillette With all due respect, this is a completely different animal. Not having made many non-Revs matches at Gillette, can anyone speak to past usage of segregation in the stadium? I imagine they'll be consulting with the Strathclyde Police when it comes to game day operations.
Re: Rangers v. Celtic, the Old Firm @ Gillette Goff is hearing that this may be at Fenway...I'm definitely in if it's there. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/soccerinsider/

Re: Rangers v. Celtic, the Old Firm @ Gillette This can't happen anywhere but Gillette, simply based on how many more people they could get in the seats. I mean, it could, but it shouldn't.
