Watchng the Philly vs. Toronto match got me thinking that a thread looking at the league thugs might be fun. Who knows...... A Sounder may even get nominated by year end. Personally, I think Danny Califf is a class A douchebag......... so he is my nominee. There are others who played tonight that could get recognition as well.

    Thoughts?

Tyrone Marshall would have to be on the team.

How have we gotten this far without Dema or Hristo?

Jamison Olave has to be in there. Far worse than either Calif or Marshall. Remember him throwing Montero headfirst into the side boards?

From what I've seen so far I think Philly has already done a fine job getting the MLS All Thug team:

Chivas seems to have cleaned up their act a lot, but Houston is still hacking away. Downside is that Colorado seems to have taken over Chivas's place though. I don't remember Colorado being that bad of hackers last year.

My nominations would be as follows:

    Kevin Goldthwaite
    Danny Califf
    Dema Kovalenko

Colorado's defense is kind of a mess -- they have even started Marvel Wynne at center half.

Plus they added Larentowicz to Mastroeni to create one of those "empty bucket" formations with two defensive-minded midfielders. And Mastroeni has always, always been a hack. A once-pretty-talented hack. But he's a hack. I can't believe how many cards he has taken for the National Team -- often at the exact wrong moment.

Jameson Olave, Nick Garcia, Tyrone Marshall, Danny Califf

Dema Kovalenko, Pablo Mastroeni, Daniel Hernandez, David Beckham

    Mac Kandji, Luis Angel Landin

Manager: Peter Nowak, exponent of manly soccer, and Preki each get a half

    Josh Wicks as keeper.

Although he's been released by DC. (I can hear soccer fans throughout Washington applauding with excitement)

Chivas USA's former player, Paulo Nagamura, was one of the biggest thugs.

    Jesse Marsch was worse.

And no list would be complete without Adrian Serioux -- who once purposefully tried to hurt David Beckham to "send a message."

I'm surprised this thread has gone almost 2 full pages without mention of Eddie Robinson or Joey Franchino.

How could you forget... Josh Wicks in goal! I second the nomination of Joey Franchino. He's criminal with his thuggery!

They're Seattle fans...they'd need Wiki to know who Joey Franchino was.

    I'll add Kevin Harmse.

This was meant for players actually on a roster at this time, Einstein. It's not an alltime list. Neither Franchino or Harmes are on an MLS roster right now. Keep your verbal cheap shots to yourself, douchebag.

I'd also like to add Atiba "the Hun" Harris for consideration.

Kamara certainly made a case for his inclusion in today's game.

    1. Dema Kovalenko (broke two players' legs, that ought to earn him a top spot for sure)

    2. Joey "studs up" Franchino

    3. Mamadou Diallo (What he did to Mike Amman is probably the worst offense/injury inflicted in the history of MLS)

    4. (Tie) Danny Califf and Eddie Robinson

    5. Tyrone Marshall

    6. Pablo Mastroeni

    7. Dario "Rocky Balboa" Sala (cold cocked two Colorado players at the end of one playoff match)

    8. Hristo Stoichkov

    9. Josh Wicks, MLS' All-Time Head Case (What is wrong with that guy?)
