The best one was 2006 where Germany announced, on April 1, that due to far-right skinhead violence in the country, they were withdrawing from hosting the 2006WC and the only country capable of hosting on such short notice was the USA. The final, the article said, was to be held at Sun Devil Stadium, mid-afternoon, in the middle of the summer. That was a good April Fool gag.

hmmm.....Am I the only one that thinks that this is a lame April fools joke? I was thinking of maybe A lifetime contract to BB to coach USA. Maybe a story about Adu getting playing time with the USA first team. Maybe the whole Defense line being held by MLS players? There are just so many options that would have done better IMO.
I'm confused by the fact that USSF scheduled this as the afternoon game in the doubleheader. I mean, does MLS really think a national team game is going to bump up ratings for the Rapids that much?
