I don't think that's true for Valdivieso (FSC's Argentine league announcer). When Max was still with FSC, he and Valdivieso paired on several of the big Argentine games, which doesn't seem like it would happen if Valdivieso were provided by the feed.
I would think this is part of the retransmission consent for WABC-TV. Although Cablevision probably would've had to add it next time ESPN/2 themselves came up for renewal. As it is, figure ESPN3.com to be added next time. If Cablevision and NewsCorp still have a decent relationship from when they were partners in running MSG and operating FSN, then we'll probably see FSC HD before long. My personal guess is 2nd half of 2010.
I emailed Cablevision and received a response last week. Discussion Thread --------------------------------------------------------------- Response (Rachel V.) - 03/24/2010 11:30 PM Dear Mr. *******, Thank you for your recent inquiry. We are in discussions with various broadcasters and other networks regarding carriage of their signals and hope to bring more channels to our customers in the near future. Please remember that the negotiation process can be unpredictable and therefore it is nearly impossible to give an estimated time frame of when an additional channel may be added. We will be happy to forward your request for the Fox Soccer HD and Fox Soccer Plus channels to our programming group. Your patience is appreciated, and we thank you for your consideration. We appreciate your business and value you as a customer. If you have any additional questions please visit us at www.Optimum.com. Did you know that channel 672 is our new iO Sports Quick View channel? It offers iO customers a single channel from which multiple channels with sports content can be viewed, such as MSG. Sincerely, Rachel Cablevision Shared Services

i suppose its a forgone conclusion that dishnetwork (the only provider available to me currently broadcasting, or even stating an intention to broadcast, fsc hd) won't have goltv hd?... any definite word from directv regarding fsc hd? i know everyone is assuming it will be available when the new satellite goes online, but some confirmation would be nice...
This is terrific news! When watching a soccer broadcast in HD you just don't want to watch it any other way. Unless of course its in 3D HD!
D12 will give Dtv the capacity to add channels as they desire int he near future. If they reach agreement with GolTV - they can add it the day it comes out..
sure, but that doesn't change the fact that dish has fsc hd *right now*, while dtv doesn't, and hasn't said anything about getting it (though everyone assumes it). i'd feel pretty stupid signing a 24 month contract with directv only to find out they, in fact, will not carry fsc hd, for whatever reason.
DIRECTV will broadcast the World Cup in 3D thanks to D12 and the launch of 3 new 3D channels including ESPN3D. http://www.businesswire.com/portal/...d=news_view&newsId=20100329005592&newsLang=en
as someone who wears eyeglasses I have no desire to watch some gimmicky 3D broadcast and have to serially stack eyeglasses like Fred Sanford dialing his phone.
Aren't you the same guy who can't see the difference between standard def and high def? For those of us with good eyes I'll let you know how it looks on June 11th. I'll reserve my judgement on whether its good or not until I actually see it.
I dont know where to put this, so I'll put it here. who was the new guy in the FSC studio with Barton and McMahon? I missed it.
I am someone that has worked in major network tv & radio for the past 10 years and what FSC has had problems with in terms of their audio dropping here and there and the awful issues they've had with the "delay" are nothing short of embarassing for the the entire FOX family of networks. This has gotten beyond trivial for such minor mistakes to be happening. It's not like these broadcasts are being generated from some sort of 3rd world country with limited resources. If you are hoping for a great broadcast on FOX for the final you might be grasping at straws. It could possibly be a very embarassing situation for this network and football on a whole that day.
Slow down there.... The audio problems are at the source as the same problems are occuring on Sportsnet Canada where I'm watching the game. Its the international audio feed that is cracking up and completely out of FOX's control (at least today's audio problems). SA
there is no problem (audio wise) with the Spanish feed (Fox Espanyol), I just can't understand it.......
