The bar sounds like a new addition. Were the TVs older CRTs or HDTVs? A few weeks ago, there were several CRTs up there that were going to be replaced. The carpet has always been there. The tables and chairs usually come and go as the situation calls for. If the TVs are HD, then it sounds like everything is done up there. BTW, Huntington Park is downtown.
Gotcha. Yeah, either they never got the memo, the TFC fans had tickets at Will Call and just decided to go through that gate which would hint at a problem with relaying the message to the event staff, or what I heard about "escorted in through their gate and up to the section" was an idea that never really went through.
Combination of HD and CRTs I believe. And your right, the park is downstairs. What do we call the bar then?
They've had Guinness in the Stadium Club for years. The Goose Island IPA was also there as well. The good news about this is that if someone wants a Guinness, they don't have to walk all the way around the stadium now to get one. The bad news?
I'd have to say the bad news is no local beers to speak of...Columbus Brewing Co., Gordon Biersch, Elevator, Barley's, Hoster, Weasel Boy, etc. FO needs to look into this IMHO.
Spent the 2nd half on the stage. Had the same draft beer as mentioned above (dont know about Guinness, though). The tables are nice, too. Entered by going down the stairs where everyone smokes. By far its most redeeming quality (especially at HT) is that it has it's own restroom. If you sit in Nordecke or anywhere on the North End, you could easily use the head, get a hotdog and beer and be back to your seat by the time you get through the line for the Men's room up in the corner.
From what I saw, it did work for some TFC fans, as there was a line of them at a side gate (by the soccer kick inflatables) complete with CPD and security.
I'm aware they had Goose Island 312 on the East Side last year. I hadn't found the IPA before. All those wasted beers! But then Goose Island is from Chicago -- so maybe we should boycott it? I'm pretty sure the Bud stuff is local. Nahh. They do have CBC at CBJ -- and the line's usually very short. Hockey fans appear to prefer Canadian beers. I'd gladly buy local beers. Even at $8 a pop.
They might have had it on the stage, but I defintely know it's available at a stand outside of ~109. It faces just opposite the Donatos place, to the North.
the hudson street hooligan beer is produced by elevator which also makes Dark Horse, Which was on draft above the NORDECKE
I think I saw some in the Stadium Club. Hopefully we can have the Original Crew Brew at the tailgate sometime soon as well.
Wow i feel stpid. I believed it until they said the part about Ohio St getting the name. I was actually excited about destroying the upper deck.
lolz: "“Also, due to the recent growth in 3-D movies and the revenue they generate, we are pleased to be offering our games in 3-D as well. Each fan through the gate will receive a pair of Black and Gold 3-D glasses that is sure to enhance their game day experience.”"
