MLSNETvs MLSSOCCER, the old/new which one you like the best and why?

Recently mlsnenet.com became mlssoccer.com The new one has more features, but its not easy to get game match reports and its a bit confusing. I prefer the old webpate. Which one do you like best and why?

No idea Blue Nose. I've only got poor man's telly at mine and our Gert's only got the basic Sky package.

BTW, I thought we'd knocked you out the Cup at Pride Park the other week.

The old one. I could actually watch live games on that.

I definitely like the old better. You could more easily find when games are happening, the final score from past games, and the scoreboard was at the side showing which teams are in the lead in the season. Even kljeston hates it he mentioned it on twitter =p

Talk about people going overboard. Sure it wasn't the greatest source of information yesterday, but I'm sure the kinks will get worked out. I'm just glad that I could watch most of the games that were played yesterday. All the other crap is just filler.

It sucks because you can't watch games (yet) if you aren't in USA or Canada. Big suck.

Silverlight works OK under Safari. However, it is a huge resource hog. While playing the highlights in Safari it uses about 60% of both processors. When I download the .mp4 video and play it back with VLC it uses about 20% of both processors. Why??? Cause Silverlight is bloated crap like Flash.. aggrevating.

I have to say I definitely like the old website better. It was easier to see the recap of each game with who was substituted in when and how many saves the keeper had and so on. I also really liked the link to the page with the summary of injured players because I play in a fantasy league with my father and knowing who's injured when helps with trades. I have found the new website hard to navigate and frankly not nearly as informative as the old one.

It smells like MLS did a deal with Microsoft (National Sponsor!) to get free or cheap licensing for Silverlight. And when they went to MLB Advanced Media to tell them they wanted to change from Flash to SL, MLBAM said "we tried that and it sucked. If you want to do it you're on your own."

So now whereas MLBAM (a very advanced, skilled shop) had pretty ably run the MLS site, now MLS is going it alone, and you see the results.

Now the blithering idiots running the website have recaps for all 6 games played Saturday, but haven't updated that to the schedule page and don't have the first two games of the week even in the scroll at the top of the page.

Fire every one of the worthless hacks and scrap the site. The recap pages are just atrocious. The layout seems to be designed for the terminally stupid. What a horrible, horrible league.

Old one. I was at the NYRB game yesterday and got home late. Any site that I can't log in and see the scores throughout the league in the 5 spare minutes I had this morning before having to get out of the house isn't worth a damn.

On opening weekend too. They should be ashamed of themselves. Some new casual soccer fan came home from a game somewhere, decided to check out the league's site, and they were hindered in their efforts to learn more and get more into it. Awful job.

Agreed wholeheartedly. The new site is seriously lacking compared to the old site. Information update (or the lack of it) is at snail pace and is hard to find.

    I cannot but can elaborate.

All the games listed here, played or yet to play, show a score of no score and zero attendance. The schedule of the opening game is displayed as Mar 26 but it was played on Mar 25.

Not only the above link is a farce. The scrollable scoreboard at the top is another. Even though there is a left arrow (for scrolling to past games?), but it does not function at all. If so, why is there a left arrow?

The new MLS website needs to be re evaluated...too busy with no substance...where are the box scores, updated MLS specific news, etc?

I think we should let MLS front office know about all of this. We prefer the old one becuase its easier and simple to navegate and check scores, attendance, stats and so on. As soon as i get back from vacation, I will write a letter to MLS front office in New York and express our discontent and also invite them to check on what bigsoccer fans have to say about it.
