According to the teams Wikipedia page, the home kit has green socks along with the green shorts and a green-black-green away combo. Looks to be minor hoops too. WHY this isn't the home kit I have NO idea--assuming it is legit--but at least they got it half right.
That is cool. Looks similar to the GK jerseys on the homepages, just Green/grey(?). Looks as sharp as a wiki page could
Looks very nice. This should be our home rather than our away. I'll take one of these with Ralston on the back.
I agree, if true, They without a doubt should be the home uniform. Maybe an Email to AC about this matter is in order?
Seriously. They still haven't played a home game, maybe they can still change their minds on this. If not, I'll just have to take solace in the fact that I (in my away jersey) will look classier than the guys I'll be rooting for.
I look at it like this: Every write up about the kits; every post on Facebook, every photoshop entry on chat forums, every thread on Big Soccer, I don't recall ANYONE--maybe a very small few--wanting a bright canary yellow top. I mostly recall white home strips, shirts with the old STL sash look, and--my personal favorite--the green and black Celtic away style from a few years back (and this had quite a lot of fans, save for the Rangers fans lurking about ;D ). Yet, after all the hundreds of posts about home shirts, they give us something no one really wanted. And fans have let them know about it too. I understand if it's trying to offer something different to Athletica, but hey, I really don't think people are gonna confuse the too. I think if I try really hard I could pick out the gorgeous Hope Solo in a green top standing next to Steve Ralston.... The green-black-green is a PERFECT home strip. Maybe green-white-green. Whatever, but I really couldn't comprehend anything BUT green as our home shirt. But, if this is the away, then I'll buy the away. Wouldn't be surprised to see more away than home at AB park once people start purchasing the shirts either.
Well at least there's been an interest I guess. But I agree wholeheartedly. I appreciate they're not doing a white jersey, as that is just something MLS started doing that is not the norm for club soccer elsewhere. It may be easier, but I like having two color jerseys. Maybe a petition could get them to change...doesn't seem like the league would object at this point. Plus, the whole point of the home/away jersey allows for the home team to choose...maybe they'll get a hint.
Talked to Ken Godat last night, asking if that was for sure the away shirt everyone was wearing last night (not the players, the staff), and was told, "No, that's a practice shirt". So were the shirts worn at each game vs. KC. So, as it stands, we don't know what the official away kit is yet.
just an FYI. as far as personalization goes, me and some of my friends are planning on doing like Reading FC fans and just getting #13. Take that as a fan #. I don't know if anyone on the squad has that #, but at Reading 13 is set aside and no player can take it.
IDK, Reading uses 13. maybe because its an unlucky number and none of the players ever used it. Could be any number.
about #13 on the Reading FC site: http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10306~19591,00.html and from wikipedia: Reading became the first football club to register their fans as an official member of their squad, giving the "player" registered with squad number 13 as 'Reading Fans'
Well, to start ACSTL's own tradition, albeit not official as Reading's, fans could do number 10 as the club's inaugural season was 2010. Obviously somebody will have the number already, but just a thought. Could be something that catches on and has a little meaning for the long-term future of the club.
