This is absolutely correct. If you're taking the blue line, I think you can get off at 2nd street, but for the train go to market east and just go to the cab stand. Keep in mind that the match probably won't end until roughly around midnight and most RR trains last trip out of the city is at 11:30pm.

I was originally planning on going to the Iron Abbey, but it looks like I'll be stuck at work in the city till at least 9 so I'll probably head to Darkhorse and might drag some buddies along. I've never been, any suggestions for parking in the area?

There's some street parking on 2nd right near the bar -- those kind of diagonal spaces with the kiosk you use to pay. So if you get lucky, you can use that. Otherwise there's at least one garage right on Lombard just a hundred yards from the Dark Horse or so.

You can park at the Penns Landing parking lot for ~$15-20 which is steep and will put about 5 minutes away for a walk. Just south of the DH is a bunch (~40) of parking spots (metered) that divide Seconf Street. I think there is a Wawa on the west side of the street. If you can't find anything there, just to a couple laps arounf the area unitl something pops up. When in doubt South Street is probally a good bet, just remember id you see a flash mob, start wrestling with your friends, they might just pass by.

Well fingers crossed for no flash mobs. I was thinking Penns Landing too, depending on what time I'm getting there I might do a few laps and hope something is open for cheaper. Thanks!

Don't worry. It's Thursday night, and the wannabe rioters will be home in bed sleeping. Those flash mobs only happen on Saturday nights (or Sunday nights if Monday's a holiday).

"Big Brother" is watching, too. I saw my first Police security camera yesterday evening posted up high at the corner of 9th and South, with more to come along the entire stretch of South Street all the way out to Front.

Saw that too last night on the way home from Chapter House. That thing got put up quickly too. Those cameras were all over Chicago last time I visited. I wouldn't mind them so much if the flashing lights weren't so ridiculously bright. If one pops up outside my apartment I'm going to be less than pleased.

I've seen them up along Broad Street at Temple's campus and the T.U. Hospital ... this one came as a bit of a shock.

And you're right about the lights. I feel sorry for the poor schmuck who has that corner condo right above Starbucks.

Well we decided to just go ahead and watch the game at home on the big screen. That way we can drink as much as we want without having to drive anywhere.

I probably won't be on here much during the game though, my computer is on a different floor than the TV.

Can you say LESS THAN TWO HOURS AWAY?

I'll be watching in my living room on the 42 inch flat screen TV, about a half a block distance from the beach on the Jersey shore. Feeling like I'm in a no-win situation, obligated to root for Philly and going against my Red Bulls loyalty.

What's wrong with me? I think it has something to do with my Trenton roots, perhaps?

i have never seen the DH so packed.
    not even for US-brazil

it was amazing. we had every room open and people were still crammed in.

too bad we didn't get the result we all hoped for. i'll be bitter about that for a while, but i did enjoy getting to watch a philly soccer team take the field. (too bad montero still dives very well.)

Watched the match at a friends house. We did a prematch bbq and watched on a 52" lcd. I enjoyed being able to really focus on the game. I know if I was at DH I'd be struggling to even see a tv or hear the audio. Home opener in 2 weeks. HOTYB.
