    BLACKBURN HOLD ON!!!

If we hold up our end of the bargain and Chelsea + Manutd draw, we will tie Manutd on points at the top.

    Weird...
while I think Liverpool can help us stop MU, they couldn't do that...then Blackburn who I have no hope for did get a point from them... anyway... one at a time...there are still 8 games to go....

I'd like to officially change my vote to Chelsea now beating United.

EDIT: No, still need them to draw United. But the GD is really killing us.

if this is the case than goal differential is going to be very important. they're at 47 and we got 40.

Come on guys, Chelsea have to travel to Fratton Park to play mighty Portsmouth, fresh off a morale boosting win :D;)

Gonna need United to slip up elsewhere, maybe against City. They are starting to look strong though sadly.

If Pompey or Villa can at least hold Chelsea to a draw, then we can start to root for a Chelsea win against Manutd (which won't be too far fetched as Manutd will be playing Bayern midweek while Chelsea have the week free).

Overall, what matters most is that we take care of our games. Anything less than 21/21 and its over for us.

Yup it's a great home stretch. A tight 3-horse race, with Liverpool nowhere to be seen. Would've been hard to predict at the start of the season. But IIRC not to far in Wenger said he thought it would go to the wire.

except mascherano wasnt holding onto valencia in the penalty area.
magically, valencia's legs just died on him as he crossed the line.

Exactly, if anything it was a free kick outside the area. But anyhow Valencia decided to take a nice dive.

Mascherano held on until Valencia had partially crossed the line:

Also, with Carragher a good distance a way and Valencia headed toward goal, it really was touch-and-go for a red:

We gave up a penalty vs. City in the CC semi-final first leg (Bellamy) for exactly the same thing.

    Wow - that was unexpected.

From United's point of view, they were always looking to the key game at Old Trafford where a win would do it for them. The problem they had was Chelsea being happy to draw it.

As it stands both of them need now to win it!

Really? Your own picture would seem to indicate otherwise. He looks like he's roughly 3-4 yards away, which at full sprint is roughly 3 steps depending on speed and how long your strides are. So as far as that "carragher a good distance away" BS...not so much. Good try but it really wasn't "touch-and-go for a red." If Carragher had been that far away AND a few yards back you've got a decent argument. However, as your picture shows, he's clearly level with Valencia and would have been able to put in a challenge had Mascherano not touched him.
