Diagram that sentence. I dare you.

You mean like the unknown Argies that came to RSL to play for the league minimum, or slightly more? Or are you talking about GBS/Blanco/Beckham/Stoitchkov/Moreno/Etcheverry who really didn't have anything to prove.

There's a list every year of American players than get drafted and waived because they're just not that ********ing good.

If any year was to be the best year for MLS, it would be this year because of the World Cup.
So if the MLS players strike, Beckham (which I don't really care about) doesn't come back until Sept, I would say the MLS would be a big embarassment for soccer in US, especially when 2 MLS stadiums are slated to open this year.
Maybe years later when the teams and league are making $ hand over fist, then the players can strike, but now, they will probably just shut down the league and the rest may be history....

I heard they cant go to other leagues unless they are out of contract so that means that they cant go to ussf 2 because the mls says no.

Well duh. If you're under contract you have to play for who you're contracted to. Same thing happens in Europe.

Maybe that's the answer; at-will employment. :p Nick Garcia might not be so thrilled about such a develpment...

Then you aren't under contract and you're free to go anywhere you want other than another MLS team. Even USSF League 2.

Which is exactly why Jason said "other than another MLS team".

You're only under contract if you're waived or cut after the roster guarantee date, and only for the rest of that season. Logical since MLS has agreed to pay you for that time that they would still own you. Otherwise if you're waived or cut you're eitehr absolutely free, or in the case where you don't want the contract offer that MLS presented then you're free to go anywhere you want other than another MLS team.

After tonight's FSC report does not look like we are going to have a season! The owners said in no way are they going to change the single entity structure and are prepare to scrap the entire season to protect it.

If they bring in scabs I an still going to games! I could care less if Landon Donovan or anyone else currently in the players union shows the f$%^ up! F%^& em!

First of all, you're an idiot.

Second of all, it's a World Cup year. If you think Landon Freaking Donovan is just going to sit idly somewhere and twiddle his thumbs while he could be playing in the Premiership, you're high.

Third of all, doing this actually HELPS the union. The more MLS players catch on elsewhere, the better it is for the players. It shows the owners that the players don't need the owners as much as the owners think, because they can find other employment. Right now, the owners need single-entity more than they need any small handful of players. But if they believed the possibility of a mass exodus could happen, they might be more inclined to give on some of the other points. Right now, they're losing so much money that they're better off not having a season than they are raising payroll.

Fourth of all, you're an idiot.

While it certainly hasn't panned out as well as he would have liked (so far) I'm pretty sure the $1m a year he earns over there helps sooth his wounded heart....

That list starts with FC Dallas overpaid foreign signings....

I believe the players are making a big mistake if they do, in fact, strike......don't like the contract offered...?? then don't sign it...

Think about what you just said! I really do not care what the USMNT does in the WC! Frankly, they are not good enough any way! You are dreaming if you actually think they have a chance to win it! Dreaming! They may advance but they have not shot of winning it. So, does it really matter if LD sits idle! This is not all about LD!

The only ones in this negotiation with anything to lose are the owners. They are the ones with the hundred of millions of dollars to lose. The players can walk into any Mc Donalds and pick up where they left off financially.
