    Wow. Thanks!

That was the first time I ever got the feeling of the fans being "on top of the players." At the start of that video you can really feel the incline of section 126 (and surrounding).

This stadium is going to be both great and terrible for other teams to play in!

Did you take this video yourself? If so, how did you get access? I am a photographer and aspiring filmmaker and would love to get access to Red Bulls events.

No, those last two were posted by ASN on twitter. Unfortunately, I was not invited to Media Day  even though I have the day off, as my office still doesn't have power from the weekend's devastation.

Listen, that was just a go-to joke/stament. Like the last circle in hell being reserved for rapist, child molesters and lawyers.:D Hardy, har, har. Just having a bit of drunken fun.

Rejoice! You'll have a brand-new stadium in the near future up in Baltimore.

    To all y'all NY supporters,

What "iammrben" said. His were my exact thoughts, too.

Just saw the Goff vimeo clip and your RBA leaves me speechless. That thing is beautiful. 99.5% of the clubs across Europe would kill to have a ground as fantastic, excellent, amazing...

Congrats from (another) United supporter. I look forward to hammering you people in your gorgeous new home for many years to come---and then slowly sulk our way south back home to the dark side of the moon.

If we ever end up with a home even partly as amazing as RBA, we will be hugely, richly blessed.

I went to RFK many times, including MLS Cup 1997, USA v Guatemala, DCU home matches when I lived in Southern PA/Baltimore area and I must remind you to feel pride. RBA is awesome, yes. But, RFK is a hundred times better than Giants Stadium ever was.

Having said that, we do hope that DC's situation is sorted out soon. DC really was the flagship club for a long time and I think the stadium situation has really damaged what was, in my estimation, the premier club in MLS for a decade. Of course, I do hope NY finally gets its own success story to reminisce about someday.

And, I'm looking forward to being a part of it from Red Bull Arena's inaugural season.

If Glenn Beck saw that, he'd probably say:

"You see! It's really going to be called RED ARENA! A secret communist meeting place! These foreign interlopers were just waiting for the stadium's Grand Opening to spring this unpatriotic suprise on us! As all *good* Americans have always suspected, the people who like soccer in this country are not *real* Americans. They want to destroy our way of life, and turn us over to Barak Obama's United Nations One-World Government! Well, I'm not going to let the foreign forces-of-evil do away with America! I'm going to stand up to these soccer people and say, I'M GOING TO A BASEBALL GAME just to show you what this country is all about! Individual liberty! Juan Pablo Angel and people with un-American names like him will never take my America away from me (sob, sob, sob, wipes away tears)! God, I love this country!"

    Hey, Glenn....

In the immortal words of Alice Donut:

Your way of life is totally over.

There is a reason Van Jones was removed...but that's another story for another day. Stay on topic.

I sat in them about two hours ago and I can attest that they are extremely comfortable!

    Poorly thought out.

It is not wise to make the bench comfortable.

Players should NEVER say to themselves, "Wow, these seats are really cushy!"

Players *SHOULD* be saying to themselves, "I hate sitting on this bench. It sucks. I get splinters."

If Peter Nowak were coaching this team, those seats would be in a dumpster on day one, replaced by a two-by-four with spikes on it.

This is my favorite line from the article, and the thing I will enjoy the most about RBA, "and the soccer field will not become lost in a maze of faded football yard markers."

But can someone team me how this is a in the words of the author a "drawback"? "The nearest restaurant is another 10 minutes away." That's only a little longer than it took to walk from the outskirts of the GS parking lot to the stadium. We are going to enjoy a few drinks before the match with the ESC, and afterward head to Brasilia for some Portuguese BBQ. Can it get any better than this?

Exactly. Saying the nearest restaurant is 10 minutes away gives short shrift on a number of things. For starters the nearest restaurant isn't a TGIFridays. Second, saying restaurant vastly understates that you have a virtual cornucopia within a 10-15 minute walk. It ain't just one restaurant. Finally, and just to chime in, the 10 minute walk across an ocean of pavement with jack squat except parking spaces cannot be overstated as a reason it is good to be out of GS. Maybe one day there will be vendors lining the streets and nearby pubs with great food; but that only will add to the carnival-like atmosphere. Name another soccer stadium in the US that has the resources of a surrounding area to compete with Harrison.

You guys are missing the big picture. If we ever hope to lure Freddy Adu to come and sit on our bench, it has to be nice.

These quotes make me think that the article was written by a baseball fan:
"Soccer does not seem to generate as many statistics as other sports, so fans may not mind that the scoreboards hanging above the end zones are relatively small."
"The stadium does not appear to have a lot of garish signage. That may be a sign of the weak economy or perhaps the team’s focus on the game."

Soccer stadiums are not like baseball stadiums, which are covered with gaudy ads everywhere and oversized scoreboards filled with crap. My favorite soccer venue is St. James Park, which doesn't have a scoreboard, clock or jumbotron at all (only recently they put small digital clocks in the corners at field level that players can see).

Guess what else Ken Belson? We also don't play "theme music" when a new player enters the field as a substitute.

From what I can tell Belson has written very little - if anything - about soccer. Surprised Jack Bell was not sent to cover this.

I think much of the media still underestimates the amount of soccer fans in this country, and I know they underestimate our passion. The result is that they write as though the soccer mentality is foreign to their readers. But hell, it's better than no coverage at all.
