We do not need another striker. We have had the exact same Achilles heel since Wanderley ********ing Luxemburgo and still have yet to completely address it: width. We don't really have much. The false winger shit with Zidane didn't work, and it's not working with Kaka or Granero, either. It may work for La Seleccion, but they have the advantage of the nearly telepathic understanding between Xavi and Iniesta (I seriously wouldn't be surprised if those guys eat, sleep, piss, and ******** their wives at the exact same time as the other every day). We only have really one player resembling a wide man capable of the highest levels of play (CR), as we did last year (Robben), as we have every single damn year since selling Figo and Solari to Inter.

Yeah, okay, it's possible to field a great team that lacks width. Milan did it, Brazil do it. But we're neither of those teams. We're Real Madrid, and we've always been at our best when we've had some genuine wide men, whether Gento and del Sol, Michel, Amancio, Solari, Figo, or whomever. Furthermore, if you look at the top teams these days, they have actual width.

Bottom line: the rebuilding project this summer wasn't enough. We need another, real, honest-to-God winger. We haven't had a pair of real wide men since the last time we won the CL, and no, I don't think it's coincidence.

I'd like to add that Delgado is a ********ing first rate twat, as is the rest of the Lyon team. Apparently they were gloating in the tunnels and almost came to fists with Cristiano, Ramos, and Higuain.

Delgado then said to the press, "They were acting like they were already in the final, and now look, we have eliminated them"

He's not the first one to use two DM's when you need to score a goal. I've seen plenty of coaches do it, they say/think that you recover the ball faster with 2 DM's in games like these.

What were the odds a-goal-every-75-minutes Higuain would miss those chances. Meh...

Higuain can go on and win the Pichichi, I could careless, he didn't score when it mattered.

    whatever, I'm done.

TBH, I don't see why so many of you are quick to defend Higuain. This is the same Higuain who has failed to produce last year. Sorry, but it's not good enough at this level. I'd say Real excludes him out completely from next year's CL squad. Wishful thinking, but the boy has got to learn, one way or the other.

Real Madrid is too big of a club to wait for players like Higuain to produce. Forget league form, on CL form, Higuain does NOT deserve to be selected in next year's squad. You all are fast to judge Kaka, Ronaldo... but why not Higuain. Kaka and Ronaldo have been here for... half an year. Higuain has been here for years and tell me, in all this time, how many good CL performances did he put in?

Now, before saying the word scapegoat, sure, Higuain wasn't the only reason. But he was one of them and has been time and time again which is enormously frustrating to endure. I'm starting to think that... maybe he just doesn't have the intelligence to play football at a higher pace. Hopefully not, but... I don't know, something's not right with this lad. Comparing him to Rooney is laughable at this stage, sorry.

As for the other reasons, firstly, I didn't think we were that bad defensively, just our usual kinda bad self. Lyon are a very potent side going forward. Scored at the Nou Camp last year. Expecting them not to score is... walking on thin ice. You just can't do that with sides of this quality. Should have aimed for 3, problem is, after our goal, despite us dominating for the rest of that half, I just felt that... there was a bit of complacency creeping in. In the second half.... really, Puel's changes completely changed the game and at this moment, when MP should have addapted his formation, he failed.

So, yes, Pellegrini is to blame as well. And as much as one can appreciate his "persona", hard truth is, if we don't win the league, he'll be sacked and... sorry, but with Real Madrid showing no progress over the previous season, it will have been a justified sack.
I never expected us to do much in this year's CL. BUT, getting past this stage I did expect. Perez did too. Lyon are a strong side, but no doubt, we should overcome such sides.

If you want to see how we rank among the best teams, check out our games versus AC Milan, then watch MUFC dismantle Milan. We're not even close.

Obviously pissed off. Ronaldo was busting his ass... should have been up 4-0 within the first 20 minutes. I knew those chances in the first half were gonna come back to play a role. I thought for the most part everyone played well... I've gotten the frustration out now... I'm done -- moving on.

Keep drinking guys. This club will take some time. And we will make lots of mistakes along the way. But we will soon have this cup again. Just get over this defeat, and move on. I suggest drinking.

Why not defend Higuain? Without him being so lethal in La Liga, there is no way that RM are on top of the table. Excluding him from the CL squad down the road? I do not think so.

Too big of a club to wait for RM to wait to produce? How did ManU wait for Cristiano to develop until he started to produce? That is a outlandish claim, what you're going to send him to RM B side?

Now, before saying the word scapegoat, sure, Higuain wasn't the only reason. But he was one of them and has been time and time again which is enormously frustrating to endure. I'm starting to think that... maybe he just doesn't have the intelligence to play football at a higher pace. Hopefully not, but... I don't know, something's not right with this lad. Comparing him to Rooney is laughable at this stage, sorry.

Again strike and a miss. Pipita has come through time in and time again, it happens. Your expectations are far too high for him, he will score ton of goals and some of the goals he scores are just out of this world. He has plenty of intelligence. And he has never renewed his contract, so if he wants to he can go to any club in the world. Henry is getting up there in age, and who knows if Barca will come and try to swoop him, how will that feel?

Maybe just maybe if RM played a better game at Lyon this would of never happened.I could recall some fans here saying" Lyon is not as good as Sevilla" and we should win, and Ramos opening his mouth and saying we will win 3-0

And why is that ? I was trying to say something about all this statements from our players before the game started but I though what the heck. What excately gives them the right to say stuff like:

    ''we'll beat them 3:0''
    ''we can't be stopped''
    ''see you in a final''

I'm glad they are confident but saying things like that is just stupid. I still remeber that famous statement from Roberto Carlos ''we'll be the leaders in three weeks''. Sure you will...:)
