Here is the replay. It doesn't go back far enough to show any offside. If the Porto fans are moaning about something that happened 30 seconds before the goal at the halfway line, they can kiss my ass.

 

nasri's goal relieved all stress.... that was incredible... i forgot what that felt like.

 

Ironic how after my little encounter with the Porto fans last time around they resorted to racism against our black players this time.

I think the reason it wasn't called offside is because the linesman probably wasn't aware when the goal kick was taken....if he had called it, it wouldn't have suprised me but at the same time it may have been perceived a soft call....regardless, an absolute sensational, well deserved win...good times!

 

Just watched it again, and reviewed in slo-mo on the replay, and it seems like Arshavin is offside at the time the kick is taken, but by the time he heads the ball the entire Porto backline have stepped behind him so it was a very awkward call for the linesman to make.

 

As far as i could tell, Arshavin looked roughly even with their entire back four when the ball was kicked. If that's what the Porto fans are moaning about, it's laughable.

Maybe someone mentioned this abovey, but anyone who lets Arshavin win a header (offside or not) has no reason to complain.

Just finished the game...wow, that felt good. Good for Bendtner to get in there--although he was spoon fed two of his goals. Arshavin gives us something different, great game going forward, but I do wish he'd be a little more tidy with possesion. Nasri was brilliant as was TV. Good game all around. Well done.

It was a goal kick. Maybe Arshavin was a yard offside, but you can't really tell for sure. Remarkably not a single Porto player put his hand up. Even if he was offside, it didn't cause the goal, Porto's bad defending did.

 

You can see it in one of the HD replays. He is slightly off technically, but I'd argue that in the spirit of the rule, he's fine. No Porto players even asked for the call.

Plus, we should have had a PK 30 seconds before Porto's second, so they're in no position to moan.

 

...so, am listening to the Graeme Souness on Sky Sports giving his "post match punditry" and as much as he applauds how good we are going forward, he is completely crucifying our defensive game and states we have no chance of winning CL....such an oxygen thief!

 

The Porto board cares. Arshavins header was the reason they lost 5-0. I'm still chuckling that he almost scored from a header in the box minutes before that too. What chumps.

 

and you could argue that was the best footballing move of the match...
