I am a Verizon FIOS customer and they post onscreen listings two weeks ahead. Las night I checked Setanta (channel 1009) into March, and they listed the first week of the Fox Soccer Plus schedule. It is still possible that the company that provides the listings to FIOS might be in error, but it also may be indicative of what FIOS will be doing with FS+....offering it as a continuation of Setanta in SD only for now. I do not get Setanta via Verizon FIOS (I continued my Globecast subscription instead when I switched from Comcast to Verizon a couple of years ago). Is there anyone out there who does have Setanta via FIOS, and could they tell us whether you current FIOS TV bill includes a charge for Setanta for March, or did they send you a discontinue notice for Setanta?
I'm looking at my FiOS bill and the Setanta portion is listed as Feb 1 - Feb 28. nothing listed for March. I also just looked at the guide and skipped ahead to Monday 3/1. since when does Setanta show Fox Soccer Report?
Yes, there is definetly a demand for FSC HD on FIOS. It seems like a no-brainer to us futbol fanatics, but , I guess, "discussions" ($$$), continue.....
It's the same thing with AT&T U-Verse. Remember, the providers generally get the guide information from outside sources. We know that Setanta will "switch over and become" FS+, but that doesn't necessarily mean it'll be carried by a provider. We'll know if our providers have signed deals based on what happens on 3/1. For me, Setanta is channel 657. What will happen on that date? Will channel 657: 1) Become part of a various tier with a "call to order" screen? 2) Become part of a various tier with actual images, suggesting that i'm already subscribed to the necessary package? 3) Go black and when I try to enter channel 657, it goes to the next-highest channel number, suggesting that FS+ is not carried by the provider. 4) Other
Verizon FiOS Unfortunately that is all the information we have available at the moment. But we understand that our fans are anxious for an update, and we expect to be able to tell you more in the coming months! 2 hours ago · Report The above is the reply I got from the "Fans of FIOS" facebook page, when I asked for more specifics about the "discussions" going on between FIOS and Fox. Months? Good grief! Bob
saw this link on EPLTalk http://support.directv.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2338 an actual mention of Fox Soccer Plus being a month-to-month subscription
With Setanta appearing to show FS+ programming next week on the FIOS guide, I'm wondering if anyone here that has Setanta in one of the few Comcast markets that carry it is seeing the same thing happen in their guide listings starting on Monday of next week.
No, at last check the listings for Setanta are "Off Air" from midnight ET on Sunday night. I also received a letter from Comcast stating that Setanta would be going off the on Feb. 28 and that my bill would automatically be adjusted. No mention of Fox Soccer Plus at all.
Same here with Comcast in the Bay Area. Off Air at 9pm Saturday for us on left coast is what the guide shows. Looks like I'll have to go back to watching a lot of matches on my laptop instead of my big screen
As a FIOS subscriber, I was really looking forward to FSC HD , BUT now i read that FS+ is replacing Setana on 3/1 as a PPV station. I could understand Setana as a non-commercial station charging a monthly fee, but this is FOX now, so why should we be charged for another SD feed of soccer matches? I suppose FIOS will see just how many futbol-fanatics will sign up for FS+ (in SD), before ever considering adding FSC HD. I, for one, will NOT buy it...............
What is going on? I'm REALLY sick of watching FSC, having those jerks tell me, "You're watching FSC in HD". No, I'm not, eff you guys. I have Comcast. Come March 1st, is FSC HD going to be available as a part of FS+? Heck, is Comcast even going to offer FS+ at all?
Re: Comcast and other cable customers (FIOS) who want FSC HD and FSC+ It really sucks to see FIOS playing the game to lure futball-fanatics into their PPV ( now FS+) station , and not adding FSC HD. They ovviously want to see how much revenue they can get from FS+ before deciding about FSC HD. So we are stuck with some horrible SD feed at the moment. Can't wait for June to watch the World Cup in HD on ESPN and ABC! Bob
It was great to watch the USA v. Netherlands game yesterday on espn2HD, but painful to watch the Germany v. Argentina and Italy v. Camaroon games on FSC in lousy SD! Come on FIOS get with the program and add FSC HD! Bob
On or about April 5, 2010 we will launch Fox Soccer Plus on ch. 460 and Fox Soccer Plus HD on ch. 470. Both services will be part of our sports tier.
Not sure if it is valid elsewhere but the above does apply for Time Warner in NYC, according to their online channel changes page. Now if they could only also add FSC in HD as well I wouldnt have any complaints.
Here are a couple of recent news releases: "Fox Soccer Channel, Fox Sports Net (FSN) and Fox Soccer Plus will feature blanket coverage of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg, with eight live and exclusive English-language match telecasts in high-definition from March 9 through 17." Fox Soccer ready for World Cup, HDTV "Broadcast giant Fox is ramping up coverage for the upcoming World Cup and is finally making the plunge into high definition. For soccer and “football” fans in the U.S. and abroad, it’s about time. The world’s most beautiful game rarely looks like it in old-fashioned standard definition. Faces are blurry and the grass looks dull green. Only problem is, Dish Network is the sole cable or satellite operator in the U.S. to start showing Fox’s soccer programs in HD. Negotiations are still ongoing with carriers such as DirecTV, Time Warner Cable and Verizon FIOS. The hope is that they will add Fox’s high-def soccer channels to their lineups very soon." Now we need FIOS to step up, and add FSC HD to their lineup NOW!
So why do those idiots at FSC keep up with the "YOU'RE WATCHING IN HD" crap? It's getting slightly annoying.
